Ethan Gutmann

Ethan received his B.A. in Geology and Computer Science from Williams College in 1999, his Masters in Geology from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2002, and his PhD in and from the same in 2008. His current research involves combining satellite measurements with weather and climate models to analyze surface hydrology. When he is not doing research or pounding out an article for Nobel Intent, he can be found behind the lens of a camera or hanging off the side of a cliff. Ethan is an avid rock and ice climber and has been on mountaineering expeditions to Peru and Nepal. He also likes taking long trips on his road bike, and would love to ride a randonee some time.
