And it is a GREAT one! Sports is HUGE is Cincinnati! High school football is almost as much of a religion here as in Texas. Thanks!

    YACCT Career Change to Art

Obviously you have a good point Bright Wire. My household is on board and I have been honest in that I will be cutting my pay in half at best. I DO need to develop a network and actually made some calls last night. As I said in my second, less nutty post, I am not going to actually move for...

    YACCT Career Change to Art

Sure Sliver7. Several comission offers have come from folks at the school, and those I work with have asked me to do work for them, and the organization I work for wanted me to do some work for them off the clock. I turned that down due to a conflict of interest. The others I have turned down...

    YACCT Career Change to Art

All great advice! Sorry to be so lame in the OP.

I have been paid for art, everything from pen and ink drawings to CGI and animation. The CGI and animation was pretty elementary technical stuff (safe lifting zones, respirator funtioning) with the exception of some identity bumpers (think...

    YACCT Career Change to Art

I've been an artist my whole life, which has lasted 40 years so far. I also have let my fears of everything from being homeless to letting down my wife convince me to stay in a comfortable, well paying bubble that is killing me. I know I know old cliche story.

I want to transition to a...

    Soap Box Religion Poll

Wiccan here. Really though, my religion is just an apt name for a collection of beliefs I have had my whole life despite the attempts my late mother made to make me Catholic. If organized religion were banned I think it would be a great benefit to society. Those who truly believe would still...

Arsians with 60GB PS3s from launch with full backwards compat... sound off!

I did not mean the above to sound like a troll even though it did. I am just losing the desire to keep up with both systems and I know which one I will keep! As far as the Wii, I lent it to my nephew six months ago...

Arsians with 60GB PS3s from launch with full backwards compat... sound off!

Launch day 60gb here. Still running like a champ, and it gets a lot of use. I use the memory card slots to watch slide shows of photos while listening to music. My older relatives just love it and think I am some kind of genius to get the machine to dissolve from one photo to the next zooming in...

Not to mention how long it must have taken to draw all of those countries over and over again. Germany attacking Poland...

How much does the IP influence your purchasing?

I'd say the IP influences me greatly. When I become invested in a world I go all in. Books, movies, games, toys. Take Halo for example. It wasn't even on my radar for years, and then I played they first game upon getting a 360 and just loved the world. reading the books only reinforced that. I...

Bought a PS3 Slim, Slow load time.

You know, the PS3 also is really miserable at talking to DNS servers used by most ISPs. As soon as I set my PS3 to use OpenDNS my download speeds and connection stability to the PSN improved dramatically. YMMV of course.

Batman: Arkham Asylum - the demo has landed

Whatever man. I just want more story based content in this world made by the same developer and I do NOT want to wait a year or more for it. This game rocks, I want more, and am willing to pony up for it. Hate on DLC all you want, but RockSteady delivered a full $60 worth of game, so they are...

Batman: Arkham Asylum - the demo has landed

Check these ideas for DLC a poster in the Eidos B:AA Official Forums had! I'd pay for these in a heartbeat! Unlike most "dream DLC" ideas, these are actually possible and marketable! Meaning self contained adventures that would not take a full game's worth of dev time. I envision each of these...

Future Plans. What direction should the Xbox take? (XNE, Natal, 720... etc.)

Recover Gamertag is only supposed to be used if your original console goes away. You can have problems with DLC if you recover regularly. The solution is to get a memory card and move your profile there. You can also keep game saves there as well as other DLC, but you don't have to.
