That's what I would have said prior to the furious denials. Nothing they could have said or done short of full disclosure could have done more to convince me there is a "there" there.
If it exists, it must incriminate all manner of people else it would have been out years ago

There is evidence linking wealthy/famous people to Epstein but much of it is not prosecutable any more than saying "Person Y once went to a Diddy Party." Some of these links are publicly known and Trump is very, very likely one of them, something basically everyone knows already. However, due to polarized politics, pointing that out had a muted political effect, until Musk made his statement as he has real clout on the Right.
Probably this. As tempting as it might have been for Epstein to keep dirt on powerful people, having such makes the blackmailer a target too. It's quite possible he only wanted to curry favor via the carrot and avoided the stick.

That seems hopelessly naive to me. Remember children are a low status group that can be pushed further down. MAGA voters gain relative status when children are victimized.
That's getting a bit into caricaturizing them.*

Maybe if the children belong to an outgroup that would be the case. Too many of Epstein's victims are like their own children.

*though they so often make it easy

The full decision for the denial of the request to release the grand jury records has dropped

Judge declines to unseal grand jury material in Jeffrey Epstein case (CBS News)
Berman noted that the Justice Department's files on Epstein dwarf those stemming from the grand jury. Proceedings before grand juries are typically kept secret.

"A significant and compelling reason to reject the Government's position in this litigation is that the Government has already undertaken a comprehensive investigation into the Epstein case and, not surprisingly, has assembled a 'trove' of Epstein documents, interviews, and exhibits. And, the Government committed that it would share its Epstein investigation materials with the public," Berman wrote.

That's a remarkably :spicy: call out of the administration's stall tactics.

The Atlantic put out a piece on it, You Really Need to See Epstein’s Birthday Book for Yourself:

I’ve heard the rumors of Myhrvold, who did some fancy photographed cookbooks or something at one point. Clearly, he’s full of shit in his denials.

People should read the article as it gives a good synopsis of the documents and the reaction to it thus far.

And former Washington Post’s cartoonist, Ann Telnaes, summed things up rather well (not sure where she posts her material directly, so linking to where I found it):

Gross. Anyone defending a "teenophile" belongs on list.

Then again, there's reporting from the FBI agents tasked with scrubbing Trump's name from the files that they would encounter videos, and that the videos were traumatizing enough for some of those agents to need counseling.
It boggles the mind that there could be so much video evidence and only one person in jail

The petition was passed
Petition Forcing Epstein Vote Succeeds Over White House Objections (WSJ)
The discharge petition, used to bypass opposition from GOP leadership, now needs to “ripen” before it can come to a vote. Speaker Mike Johnson (R., La.) told reporters late Wednesday that he expected to bring the matter to the floor next week, more quickly than most lawmakers expected.
The legislation to compel the Justice Department to release Epstein-related files is unlikely to become law. It would need to pass the Senate, and it is also subject to a veto by President Trump. But the House vote serves to put lawmakers on the record.

So probably just theatrics for now. But if the leaks get spicier, all bets are off

But you're not talking about barring too old people from office. You're talking about disenfrenchising people of a certain age

I dont think their OP ever said anything about taking away the votes. It was about an upper age limit for holding office.

A massive number of these people were starting to engage with or still engaging with Epstein years AFTER he’d already been convicted of sex trafficking the first time.
That angle of it is kind of insidious. Since the first plea deal was pretty well covered up, it gave the government (or anyone else in on it) leverage to embarrass such people whether or not they were aware.

The real worry is the emails from people to Epstein post his 2008 conviction, where people wanted to "party", or wanted favours, or wanted something else. These are people who can't claim they didn't know he was a paedophile. They knew and didn't care. These are not fakes or plants, these are clear evidence of moral depravity from key people in business and governments around the world.
A lot of them did know, certainly, but it wasn't the public story then that it is now. It was deliberately kept out of the press as much as possible

Google web search trends clear show it wasn't on most peoples radar until 2019
https://trends.google.com/explore?q=epstein&date=all&geo=US

If you switch it to news search trends, its much the same.

I think we all owe an apology to QANON. Turns out they were 100% correct that there was (is) an expansive ring of elites running a worldwide pedophilia network. Sure, they got that whole thing about it being run out of a pizza parlor in New Jersey wrong, but on the big picture they were 100% correct.
Supposedly, there's lots of use of "cheese pizza" and the like as coded language in the recent Epstein files.

Literally suspecting pizza restaurants was stupid, but I doubt there's any innocent explanation for using something with the initials "CP" at this point.

Which might apply to the pizzagate emails as well.

Yikes

I think we have to make sure to take a step back and to ensure that we take each complaint credibly, but also substantiate such claims. I am sure there are at least a few claims that are simply not true, but there are almost certainly many claims that are absolutely true.
Definitely keep the source of the claims in mind. A lot of the most horrific ones were anonymous, online complaints so high chances they are just shitposts.

The stuff from victims who have come forward in person is bad enough though

Bill Clinton should also be able to go totally scorched earth on Trump.
I wouldn't bet money on that. He definitely likes much younger women so it's conceivable that the line was crossed

Without any hard evidence I doubt Bill Gates actually did any prostitutes, Russian or otherwise.
Phrasing!

Thanks for the clarification! Seems ironic that Jews would need the blood of Christians considering Christianity didn’t exist when Judaism was created.
Especially as Christianity is founded on a Jewish man bleeding for them. Which Catholics, at the least, consume literally per their own dogma

edit: really dumb typo on phone

Surprised this hasn't been posted yet

Ro Khanna Reads Out Names of Six “Powerful Men” in Epstein Files
“Salvatore Nuara, Zurab Mikeladze, Leonic Leonov, Nicola Caputo, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, CEO of Dubai Ports World. And billionaire businessman Leslie Wexner, who was labeled as a ‘co-conspirator,’ by the FBI.” Khanna said. “Now my question is: Why did it take Thomas Massie and me going to the Justice Department to get these six men’s identities to become public? And if we found six men that they were hiding in two hours, imagine how many men they are covering up for in those three million files.”

Might actually be getting a hint of momentum on this. One can hope.

And they did not expect the Clintons to call the Republican's bluff about testifying and certainly not to raise the stakes by insisting on all of it be made public.
Maybe? Its all talk at this point. It actually happening will be another thing altogether.
