I have a question. If I dump all points in first aid on a party member does that apply when I use medi-gel?
Does the medi-gel get cast by the one with highest healing capabilities?

Having a healbot would allow me to focus on the cool stuff. -- View image here: http://episteme.meincmagazine.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif --

I prefer to just load up on the mods that heal over time and shields. In the beginning of the game, I used choke points because, if I got caught in a situation that killed me, I wouldn't have time to heal anyway. Once I got strong enough to face off against enemies, I just took a breather after encounters until what little health I lost recharged.

That's odd, as Ashley and Kaidan can easily have achievments unlocked before you hit your third major plot planet since they get a head start on Eden Prime.

Liara, because you get her last, is the hardest because she misses out on a bunch of Citadel quests. Not getting Ashley but getting Tali means I think you did swap in Garrus there for a while as I can think of no other reason for it to happen.

So I have been pondering DLC, thanks to Hurricane's previous post. The pessimist in me looks back at KOTOR on the XBox and expects a single planet or station in which one will find a traider. He will sell some mods and some weapons which are rare. They will offer nice perks. But there will be nothing that extends the story. Ultimately, Specter X gear mostly makes you the grim reaper, delivering death wherever you land. They can make you deathlier. But so what? The DLC in Kotor just made you nastier with a light saber, but you had been carving people up like cornish hen for ten levels anyway.

I really hope they prove me wrong.

The thing is, Mass Effect DLC is absolutely perfectly suited for more sidequest missions, KOTOR really wasn't. Preferably ones which are more exciting than shooting a guy in a bunker. Get Hackett to re-record some lines, have them pop up or be found in hackable terminals, new star system with tons of fun.

If they felt like being really nice I wouldn't mind seeing some planets better developed than "random terrain generator, add crashed probe, building, mineral, mineral, done" though. A trading outpost or a military base, some place where you can run around and do quests like the Citadel, an actual planet that feels like a planet, rather than a tactical map from X-COM.

From the beginning, we were able to plan for DLC because we knew even before the 360 came out how important the Xbox Live stuff would be. So it was built into the design of Mass Effect and built to work really well. That's part of the reason why we created this big galaxy -- it's a good place for us to place downloadable content.

So fingers crossed, we'll get something a lot less lame than KotOR's.

If it's something you can access after completing the game, it really can't be too far from the main Reaper plot line. Though, this certainly wouldn't be a problem if it was just something you access in the middle of the game.

By "every sidequest" do you mean you checked a walkthrough to ensure you had every sidequest trigger, or you just emptied out your list?

Because there are some you do not get unless you go to systems which are unlocked midway through the game with no fanfare.

Also as far as I can tell it requires both X main quest stages and Y sidequests to get achievements. So yes, if you want Asari ally you do absolutely the bare minimum on Citadel, go to Artemis Tau, and then play as normal. I got it after finishing some sidequests after the third story planet.

I need help and I need it bad. I am at part two of the final battle and I can't even touch him. I am an infiltrator and I've got Garrus and Wrex with me. We're all equipped with the best armor we've got and are using our best mods (tungsten bullets, my armor is the +18 to mobile aim, cool down and something else- Wrex and Garrus similarly equipped). No matter what I do I can barely put a dent in him before I'm nuked.

Of course I am continuing to have pains regarding squad AI also in that as I'm running around shooting him (it seems like I'm less of a target for his rockets if I'm close to him) I run past Garrus and Wrex and it's like they're just going through the motions! I hear no other gunfire except my own and yet Garrus inevitably dies before me.

I'm extremely frustrated- close to not finishing. Other issues I've had with team AI is coming around that corner at the turrets. I tell Wrex and Garrus to stop right before they get exposed and they ignore it and run right out and get blown up. During firefights at Ferios(?)- where Wei Fan is, they crowd around me and block me in at an exposed location. All of which I could accept as a shortcoming, but I'm feeling very frustrated.

So what am I doing wrong? Any ideas on what I can do differently?

I have a friend who works for BioWare. Opinion is that the first DLC pack "is awesome and it's not close to finished yet". Banzai:

I am currently doing a 3rd runthru on hardcore with a sentinel, Tali and Liari. I actually threw a tantrum today trying to finish out the Luna sidequest. I'm down to the thrid base and all the freaking VI drones just swarm me. That and with those one shot kill rocket drones coupled with my special ed forces trained squad mates makes this fight mind numbingly frustrating.

For this third runthru I have been experimenting with alternative tactics other than my tried and true pull to a chokepoint and take them out tactics but honestly the retarded squad AI is just much more accentuated when I am actually trying to impliment some kinda tactic in combat. I mean I can kinda accept the limited commands options they give for your squad mates IF THEY ACTUALLY FOLLOWED YOUR COMMANDS!!!!! That combined with the occasional suicide pathfinding that my squadmates use is really sapping little enjoyment I am getting in combat(why do squadmates decide to take the path that runs them directly into an enemies line of fire?).

It's not that hard to dodge the rockets, either. They're relatively slow-moving, so just pay attention to when they fire at you and strafe out of the way.

Also, I had no trouble using mostly pistol to beat Saren at the end as a Vanguard. Mind you, my pistol was maxed out, so I was a pretty unstoppable killing machine.

Magus:

Strangely enough most of the drones actually followed me into the first room.

It was partly my fault; my radar only showed one drone left so I decided to gun ho it and attack it dead on. Then I realised there were actually 2 drones left. Funny thing was that as I died my special ed forces squadmates took it out. So I would have actually been able to kill all the drones had the stupid AI and controls not defeat me.

Are you going all the way through the hallway back-tracking?

I've never had the drones come anywhere near me when I stop at the door from hallway -> drone room and take cover behind the wall. (usually on the right)

Well this is exactly what happened to me.

I took out the other 2 bases so I walk into the third base with the gas released and the force fields up. As soon as I opene the door to the drone room and take out the force field it triggers the drone to come after me. Almost all of them come and swarm me in that space in front of the door.

I immediately backtracked into the first room with the 2 lockers in it and about half of them came and followed me into the room. Defnitely an "oh shit!!!" moment cause like you stated they normally just stand on the doorway but they defnitely followed me. It actually worked out for me cause I was able to take them out. I went back into the hallway then the remaining(or so I thought) drones came into the hallway and I took them out. So I was about to do my victory dance when I look at my radar and see one red triangle. This was my one blunder; cause by this time all of my power recharged and I figured, "it's just one drone, I should be able to take it out easily." So I rushed into the room and lo and behold I'm staring at TWO rocket drones parked on the right side of that pillar behind a crate. That was definitely an "oh shit !!!!" moment so I kick into gear and throw everything I had at them. I take out one and the other is down to about 1/4 health. I am circling the drones but in the tight space I bump up against the wall and Shepard automatically hugs it. Absolutely the worst time to do this cause just then the drone lets off a rocket at point blank range and BOOM. Dead. As the screen is circling around my contorted body I see the final drone pop.
