Doctors outraged after RFK Jr. fires leaders of key preventive medicine panel

New liberal-minded conspiracy: administration-level MAGAns actually DO believe climate change is real, man-made, and unlikely to be slowed... and have thus made the calculation the best way to put far less greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere, is for more people to die sooner. You know, "decrease the surface population," of money-grubbing Scrooge fame? If not early in life (vaccines), then mid-life (mammograms, colonoscopies, soon probably routine blood screenings we all get done during our annual check-ups). And RFK Jr is literally the vehicle used to accomplish this objective (or at least "get the death party started").

I know.... not bad for a novice conspiracy theorist, right??

A banana death-cult republic. What in the actual fuck is happening over there and this timeline. No really, how did the world become so FUCKING stupid that these idiots are our political leaders, buoyed by the economic oligarch leaders being somehow even worse, I mean supervillain level nuts.
JFC...

Edited to add: It is greed and ever persistent hatred of any 'other people' , I know, I know.

This would be tenable if they weren't also pro-life. I think we can just hold to the theory of: stupidity and greed, as these despicable people tend to have some businesses that could profit from such awful decisions.

When they hear "preventative", they hear "supplements", "vitamins", "superfoods" and, most of all, "$$$"

For the record, the Right are NOT pro-life. They do not give a shit if anyone dies. They are pro-birth, explicitly anti-abortion. Once you are born they do not give a damn what happens to you.

Edit to add: If you are not expressly in favour of affordable healthcare, accessible vaccinations, comprehensive sexual education, and available treatments for life threatening medical issues (including abortions), you are not pro-life. You are just a stooge caught up in the Fox News propaganda engine.

Even that's not fully accurate. They are neither pro-life or pro-birth or even anti-abortion (plenty of them will get one on the sly if they need it). They are anti women's autonomy over their own bodies, period.

Trump is going to finish his term and nothing will stop him. I doubt he will even be held accountable for every crime and negligence during this term. Robert "Plague" F. Kennedy Jr. is just another of his goons that will probably follow the ame path. And will be less likely to be held accountable. And the absurds will keep happening in succession, till the end. Hopefully the end will actually happen in 2028. I don't see the orange emperor giving up power that easily.

I just hope the US isn't the starting point of a new pandemic.

Is all this just Evangelical "through suffering comes godliness" bullshit in disguise?

I understand the anti-vax paranoia.
I understand denying the poor healthcare because of exceptionalism.
I even understand cutting all research funding for greed.

I genuinely don't get this. It's just punitive and cruel to deny people access to screening.

Wait.... does RFK Jr have a financial interest in any faux hippy cancer cures? I bet the fucker does.

When Péter Magyar got elected as PM of Hungary, there were all kinds of reports on what a task will be ahead of him to restore common order in his country and get rid of Orbáns cronies.

Honestly, I don't envy the one who gets elected after 47 on a program to restore common order in the US when all that will be left is scorched earth.

Step by step this administration dismantles civilizational achievments in the US. I wonder when, if ever, will the "patriots" who made Trump gang rule, ever see what they have done.

This is just explainable as the plain, raw misogyny of fundamental conservatism that reduces women to a neglected, servantile thing that should praise and worship them for just existing.

The doctors pushed back, with email exchanges and a meeting with a Trump administration official, but the justification for the terminations remained murky.
I wonder what Kennedy's reasoning really is?

Kennedy has previously disparaged the USPSTF, calling it too “woke” and “lackadaisical and negligent for 20 years.”
Oh, right. He's a Grade-A moron helping prop up a death cult.

Fuck this asshole.

Top medical groups are outraged and alarmed that anti-vaccine Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has fired two leaders of an influential panel that makes recommendations and sets insurance coverage for preventive care—such as mammograms, colonoscopies, statin use, and depression screening.

Does it really all come down to the fact that he thinks depression is fake?

You are correct of course, I was simply using their own term for that particular brand of evil.

"We strongly urge HHS to restore..."

Do we really have to go through all that useless theater each time? Just start inflicting pain, ANY kind of pain. They won't respond to anything else.

I get that merely going on the record will not accomplish much, but are you really arguing that it would have been better if the people making this statement just not said anything at all?

Endlessly fascinating how much Americans specifically seem to debate vaccines, which every health body in the world reccomends and easily have benefit to risk ratios of hundreds of thousands to one, but breathlessly defend their right to perform surgery on healthily born babies for whatever obscure reasons when no major health body in the world reccomends it and it kills 100-200 babies a year

No, the most accurate description is that these people are just pure evil. There is no other word for it. They are filled with hate and a desire to hurt others. But the worst part is, half the people in this country are just as evil and filled with hate.

Don't decieve yourself. It is not a small minortiy of people. If it was, the Republican party wouldn't be able to exist. I understand the nobody wants to admit this because it is too depressing and demoralizing to think about, but you can't solve a problem until you admit that you have a problem.

The Christian right got with Libertarians and birthed this monstrosity. Their philosophy is that the market is the ultimate arbitrator and greed is good. If you don’t ‘win’ and become rIch then it is because god hates you and so you deserve to die in the gutter.

These are the sociopaths we are fighting against.

1) I'm a Good Christian and know the Truth so I can't be wrong.
2) If something bad happens to other people, it's because they deserve it and God is punishing them.
3) God will stop them from getting hurt if they truly believe.

Mark my words. He has no intention of ever leaving office. EVER.

The good news is, he's 80 and can't live forever. The bad news is, he is in office now, and will continue the chaos and destruction for as long as he is alive.

And when 2028 comes, and he refuses to leave, good luck getting him out when half of Congress, and the courts, are just as corrupt and stupid as he is.
