Woah Rossman supports Trump? On March 3, YouTuber Louis Rossman
trumper Louis tells a falsehood? Shocked!
When he first started most of his videos were repair logs.Of late? he's always been like this.
Woah Rossman supports Trump?
Never got that vibe, I must have missed something?
You must have missed his COVID era videos.vibe
Are ink printers still slow when compared to equally priced toner printers? Does ink still have a significantly lower shelf life than toner? Are there ink printers that can match the contrast of toner? Are there ink printers that have pages ready to handle as fast as toner? Why buy a printer with cartridges when for majority of uses you can buy a printer with ink tanks. The ink is about 50 times as cheap and you'll never get a firmware error. the reason why they screw everyone so bad is their policy of selling these chipped printers as loss leaders.
My Epson ET28xx is superb.
A lot happened for me during COVID (as I'm sure others had a lot happen as well), so I probably did. Any examples? You must have missed his COVID era videos.
TRIPLE DOG DARE you!Come on Ars, stand behind your reporting and update that firmware! Surely Brother isn't lying!

You would want Honda making your oil of all you knew is that you're getting oil in a whatever size container but didn't know the specs. With third-party ringer you are getting toner, but it is equivalent to not knowing if the oil is synthetic 0w20 or regular 20w50.3rd party toner IS genuine toner. I don't need Honda to make all my engine oil, why should I need Brother to make all my toner?
Some of the videos have been deleted, but basically he was highly critical of the various COVID policies.A lot happened for me during COVID (as I'm sure others had a lot happen as well), so I probably did. Any examples?
They aren't comparable. The liquid in ink wells will will dry up whether they're in a tank or cartridge. I think this person is conflating ink jet with laser printers. It's a weird post. But the point I think they're trying to make: they don't like having to pay retail for artificially imposed consumables which is a valid argument, just like preferring to use high quality materials is to certain other customers who might only buy OEM supplies because of better quality controls is also valid. Just having someone arbitrarily force a decision is... usually more about a company's business plan than quality assurance. Are ink printers still slow when compared to equally priced toner printers? My brain: we put a non-OEM knee in him and it stopped working a few years later!Anecdotal, but this exact thing happened to my dad.
Yes! I so miss that chga chga chga tzzzzzt tzzzt tzzt chga chga tzzt tzzzzzzzzzt!Disagree. The ImageWriter II I have hooked up to a raspberry pi still works after 40 years.
Rossman is definitely not just doing stuff for clicks. He doesn't make money on YouTube. No incentive to make clickbait bs like other big YTers.for me, the skepticism started when i saw “Louis Rossman”. His videos are attention-bait and i’ve found them to be generally pretty awful and a waste of my time.
Fascinating. In the mid 1990s when my LaserWriter broke, I started using inkjets. I always went with "one tank per colour" models rather than "once one colour runs out the entire cartridge is useless" models. Canon. Epson. Something else too that I can't remember. Tried them all. Endless trouble. Nozzles gum up and wont clear. Ink dripping everywhere. Followed every bit of YouTube advice I could find about keeping them in working nick. Went through megabucks in always-genuine cartridges too.Why buy a printer with cartridges when for majority of uses you can buy a printer with ink tanks. Someone actually read the article before commenting! We didn't "brick" printers, they still function. Just with less resolution, slower, lower quality, and no alignment adjustment options if you use third party toner.
Gotcha, the possibility of deletion is why I didn't go digging. Some of the videos have been deleted, but basically he was highly critical of the various COVID policies.
Which should tell you everything you need to know about your level of trust for this person.Gotcha, the possibility of deletion is why I didn't go digging.
As does my Star NX-1000. And i can still buy printer ribbons (last time I checked, I could get a six-pack of ribbons for US$15).Disagree. The ImageWriter II I have hooked up to a raspberry pi still works after 40 years.
Can't believe the downvotes for this. It's truth. If you want customers to believe your jacked up prices are worth it, educate and tell them WHY. We are not all idiots. Dont just say shit like "it's better, we only certify performance with our own proprietary junk" or whatever stock boilerplate nonsense. It just makes the customer feel belittled and justified in not trusting them. The Brother tech that posted above said more in one personal forum post than any printer mfg has ever said officially about what they do to ensure their own products are higher quality. Regardless of whether it's patented BS or not. Cool you mixed a couple a known things that already existed together and it improves some aspect of performance. I don't think that deserves patent protection. That's drug marker level of malicious in my eyes. If I had a nickel for every patented drug i have seen in recent years that was literally just two existing medications put into the same package.3rd party toner IS genuine toner. I don't need Honda to make all my engine oil, why should I need Brother to make all my toner?
I used an ImageWriter and Apple II in college. Paid $400 for the set. I could put it in the car and drive to the library. Sold it for $400 when I was done. College was a lot different before the internet.Disagree. The ImageWriter II I have hooked up to a raspberry pi still works after 40 years.
I like how ignoring evidence is the same as not having evidence. Trumpian levels of stable genius there.Of late? he's always been like this.
The fact you would say 'propriety junk' tells me you have no fucking idea how things are developed nor made or how and why they work. Can't believe the downvotes for this. It's truth. And if you don't go out of your way to lockdown your devices in the worst anti consumer ways possible then people should be able to get toner that is compatible anywhere they want. People aren't printing commercial art books or text books with these things after all.
Maybe it's time the printer industry is honest with people about their game and start charging for the printers at a proper profit margin instead of screwing people over , over toner.
You have your printer exposed to the internet? My Brother printer is updated every other month, since I have it set open with some ports and it has never had an issue with 3rd party toner nor has its scanner or part been deactivated. Occasionally I will find OEM toner on a companies bankruptcy sale but usually I use 3rd party off amazon. Its a MFC L 3710
I think this is just a case where people needed a new thing to be angry about for the month and didnt bother to check 3rd or 4th party claims from complainers who probably dont understand the difference between shitty aftermarket ink and OEM ink. Like can you blame Brother if the aftermarket ink is so bad that it prints like shit and wont calibrate? But other aftermarket, probably more pricy ones, calibrate just fine?
