At least Apple discloses the patents they claim infringe. We have no idea what MS claims. They even got Foxconn to sign a license agreement and they just put the damn things together.

You miss a point. Unless Apple can get the products yanked off the market or force the competition to hold up sales as they reconfigure software. If they can get that initial injunction they "win" to a certain extent. Even if it takes years for the final verdict to be handed down a 3 month hold up in sales gives Apple time to make the next iPhone with a minor update.

...on a computer
...on the Internet

...on a tablet (which is not a phone minus a cell radio plus inches of display area)

It should have only gone as far as "on a computer" at the very most. There's no innovation beyond that. It's all the same crap running on a general purpose processing device.

And if watches and glasses catch on we'll have the same crap all over again. Displaying tabular data on watch will be a brand new idea because it's a watch not a general purpose computing deice.

This is so broad that it applies to everything. TV, Radio, Every Single computer or Internet services, you name it. Even Google can be sued for this patent. This is again a, "don't hate the player, hate the game," excuse. A system isn't in place but that doesn't mean these companies have to exploit the system.

This is the problem with Apple. This is exactly why the only Apple products I own are an old iPod Classic that hasn't died yet and a couple Apple battery chargers.

These patents are just as vague as Apple's "rounded corners" patents. They're just mad because Android is a better, smarter operating system and Samsung phones are also just better than iPhones. Seriously, one navigation button on a phone and you have to go in the Settings menu for everything? I was even initially disappointed with my Samsung device because it lacks a search button, as I was a former Motorola user.

Apple has gotten pretty gimmicky, in my opinion. Sure, they have the retina display and their camera is pretty decent, but other phones were dual-core (and quad-core) before the iPhone and other phones adopted 4G LTE before, as well.

Although I have to say: I have the grey Galaxy Note II from Sprint and when I opened the box and saw a white charging cable and white headphones with remote and mic, I thought, "Really, Samsung?" I don't know why they're trying to emulate Apple so much. They have so much more going for them.

Microsoft has a legitimate argument. The FAT 32 file system. But they don't want to ban every competitor like Apple does. They just want companies to pay what they should to use SD Cards, usually if you can believe the rumours, at $5 a device.

1. The lame patent of loading text before images in a browser (or vice versa, completely stupid)
2. Text messages over 160 char appear as one on the other phone
3. FAT long/shore filenames
4. Broadcasting meeting appointments
5. Some weird obvious GUI patent dealing with child windows

Most were deemed non infringing when MS tried to ban Moto phones, except the meeting patent.

I have to point out Apple invented IEEE-1394 but a lot of what Apple creates are methodologies for improving and implementing ideas using existing technologies. Archimedes could be accused of doing this by wrapping an inclined plane around a cylinder. A vast majority of what has come to be is the result of this style of innovation. Henry Ford & Thomas Edison were big on using this strategy. If you want to accuse a company of being "worst company the technology world ever saw come to life" look at Sony as of late. As a media company, their mission is completely at odds with the technology world. Apple has little interest in creating media content, merely distributing it to increase hardware sales.

Acording to had2know.com, rounded rectangles are "frequently used in construction and design. You can find examples in home décor, furniture, landscaping designs, and other industrial applications."

To be honest, the icons they use for their Android skin are rather (too) similar to Apples. However, that is more a case of trade dress than an actual patent.

Just so you know, patent violation and reverse engineering is two totally different thing.

Reverse engineering is act of taking apart a product and figuring out how it does things. Whether the company attempts to violate patent or come up with a different way to do the same thing is up to the company.
