Mass Effect: five...ish? and a remaster.

I found this guide quite helpful a few years ago. reddit link

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is gritty, janky, goofy, tough, and lots of fun

You can see why Capcom have no interest in supporting modders. A pass for me.

CyberPunk 2077 - It's Ready when its Ready

^ CDPR even recommended that you should start a new play through with all these changes. I personally don’t mind the tier system, though as you say, tier 5 is the only one worth upgrading however the progression at least gives an incentive to broach level 50. I’m not using weapon mods, but the...

CyberPunk 2077 - It's Ready when its Ready

Started a new game. I’m finding I have to be a lot more careful around Night City. The NCPD have foot patrols, so accidentally nudging a pedestrian is aggressively frowned upon, as is nudging a Patrol Car. :p Getting hacked by enemy Netrunners in combat was a novel first, as in, hmm, I wonder...

CyberPunk 2077 - It's Ready when its Ready

That is disappointing. Smarter and better equipped enemies Is the way to go. Everyone the same level just adds tedium.

CyberPunk 2077 - It's Ready when its Ready

Good to see the point made that it is not a new game but much refined for the better. Being able to respec whenever you want offers major changes in play styles to mix things up. 30hrs on DLC with main quests and side quests. CDPR have redeemed themselves in my eyes. I wonder if my motorcycle...

CyberPunk 2077 - It's Ready when its Ready

^ I’m guessing it will be tied into skill progression similar to recipes unlocking in the same manner. Quite looking forward to this update and DLC.

CyberPunk 2077 - It's Ready when its Ready

I haven’t watched any videos on the update but i did read somewhere that the player can now suffer from cyber psychosis depending on quick hack use, so this along with all the other changes and I would expect another play through to be quite different.

    Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition incoming

Sounds about right. One end game path you require a bunch of settlements for the Minutemen and BOS altercation.

Starfield impressions: Putting the “vast” in “vast cosmos”

“Starfield often feels sterile, and it buries its best moments beneath so much tedium.” Polygon review. Having just completed a Fallout 4 play through I’ve had enough of tedium for awhile.

Not really, no. The positive would be that Apple would have zero problems meeting demand.

Anyone here got a Mac Studio yet?

Early days but reports in the Resolve forums are positive over a variety of formats. A 64 core GPU 64GB unified memory Ultra is reported to have exported a 10 min clip (nothing contrived; a standard project) with lots of noise reduction to mp4 in 4min 05sec, averaging 62fps, while his...

It would make Apple’s rumoured 4 chip system a bit of a joke, as it is, the high end Ultra becomes even worse of a niche workload wise. It will be somewhat embarrassing if Apple don’t have an answer to this. Everyone knows how GPU’s are expected to scale. Sure, add in a bit of overhead for...

With presumably a single node on Resolve with some ‘tough temporal and spatial noise reduction’ (which relies heavily on the GPU) with a 4k 24fps Blackmagic RAW clip, Max Tech are reporting 19 to 20fps on the Ultra and 11 to 12fps on the Max. The RTX 3090 was getting the full 24fps utilising...

Peek Performance: March 8th Event [Event discussion begins on p6!]

Not bad for a reported Metal score of 103k for the Ultra. Very interested in how it performs in Resolve with temporal and spacial NR which is a massive performance hit on pretty much everything out there.

Peek Performance: March 8th Event [Event discussion begins on p6!]

27” iMac “I’ll be back.” A consumer version with an M2 to fill the product gap. Seems there are too many happy 27” AIO users out there not to offer an alternative. Some clarification in the coming days is in order. It reminds me when the iMac Pro came out, a totally unsuitable replacement for...

Peek Performance: March 8th Event [Event discussion begins on p6!]

Many Pro Tools users moved to the Intel 2019 Mac Pro — probably not your area to be unaware of them. You’ll likely even find some on youtube detailing their experiences. Yes, I suspect you’re right. The hardware is close (latency wise) and the M2 Mac Pro will likely push it over the line.

Peek Performance: March 8th Event [Event discussion begins on p6!]

That’s not the problem for high end Pro Tools users. it’s the next to zero latency such cards offer which they deem critical with hundreds of tracks. If Apple are still going to support such users they’ll have to offer a solution or lose them. It will be interesting. Edit. I’m not an audio guy...
