They call it stupid hot for a reason: Heat muddles animal brains

While I share the long-term concerns for ecosystems in a slightly heating environment, I am more worried about global superpower nation leaders (won't name names) and the incoming summer

The most controversial Ferrari ever? Meet the Luce, its first-ever EV

I wish I saw that when I look at it. That said, after the "this can't be a Ferrari" first reaction, it actually looks interestingly refined, understated, purposeful. And unique. Plus, I suspect it's a joy to drive (which I can only dream of but still admire)

Windows Update is getting better at saving your PC from buggy drivers

Managed both. MDM zero touch solutions for Macos work fine but they are nowhere near as seamless and straightforward as intune with autopilot

    Of course not!

Shock from Iran war has Trump’s vision for US energy dominance flailing

Thanks. The highlighted phrase sums up 95% of this incredibly redundant article.

Microsoft makes it easier for Windows Insider testers to get new features

The usual tech person reaction to Windows reminds me of switching to Linux in my university days. I was a proud nerd for a few weeks until I casually talked about it with my CS professor and he said "you are using Linux with a desktop environment??? Ewwww! You might as well go back to Windows or...

Netflix ordered to refund subscribers up to €500 for unlawful price hikes

Worth clarifying once again: it's not "we dictate your prices", it's "you have to write your contract properly"

Could you please add some more acronyms to explain your acronyms?

Federal cyber experts called Microsoft’s cloud a “pile of shit,” approved it anyway

Exactly. If they reached cost parity in five years, they did it properly; that's the moment when all your hardware is due for replacement anyway and that's a pain you avoid with the cloud service. Now, I've seen cloud services cost more than "equivalent" hardware after one year. That's another...

    Here’s BMW’s first all-electric 3 series, the 2027 i3

Never been much of a BMW fan but this looks great, both visually and spec-wise. Now I should just stop making bad life decisions so I will be able to afford buying and owning something like this in the future. Yeah, right... 🙄

Climate change sucks, but at least it won’t kill your EV battery

If I had a 2.5kW TV, that would be exactly the case. Luckily, I don't. I understand it can sound baffling if you are used to 20kW or so but standard domestic powers in Portugal, Italy, Spain etc. are a google search away. Different world, I know.

Climate change sucks, but at least it won’t kill your EV battery

My own home begs to differ. Different perspectives, I guess.

Southern Europe. 3kW is the standard. Gas or central heating, of course.

Climate change sucks, but at least it won’t kill your EV battery

"Only"? Where I live, that would power four or five recently built houses (needless to say, EVs aren't terribly popular around here)

BMW’s first electric M car is coming in 2027—with one motor per wheel

The main obstacles to adoption remain high buying prices, not having a private garage where you can charge everyday and/or not being allowed to arrive to your destination an hour late because you had to stop and recharge. The target population for M cars has a higher than average probability of...

How Europe’s new carbon tax on imported goods will change global trade

I think it will be exactly as you say. Most of us Europeans are willing to live a worse life in order to not give up our values. Well, at least until that actually happens. Then we'll complain.

Solar’s growth in US almost enough to offset rising energy use

That would work great if you could recharge your electric car cheaply and conveniently during the day while you're out working and/or doing your stuff but, currently, in most cases electric car ownership only makes sense if you can recharge it at home during the night, so the opposite of v2g...
