I hate to keep pointing this out, but 49<50. Even the FEC page has that as the vote count, at least until the current administration 'corrects' it.And yes, I would argue that slightly over 50% of the voting public in America is too stupid to realize the truth. You literally just had an election that proved it out.
By calling it 49%, you're much further off the actual number than someone who says it was 50%.I hate to keep pointing this out, but 49<50. Even the FEC page has that as the vote count, at least until the current administration 'corrects' it.
No one said 50%. I think you might be missing the point, given I am responding to people who are referring to it as a "majority" or "over 50%". I can start saying 49.8% if it makes you feel better, though.By calling it 49%, you're much further off the actual number than someone who says it was 50%.
If we are being honest, it's a hell of a lot more than 50%. It's not just the 49.8% of those who explicitly voted for a Christofascist presidency. It's also the almost 80 million eligible voters who sat on their hands. Over two thirds of the American electorate acted directly against their own interest.I hate to keep pointing this out, but 49<50. Even the FEC page has that as the vote count, at least until the current administration 'corrects' it.
Under, Trump didn't clear 50% of the popular vote, almost 3 million votes went to third party candidates who had no chance to win."The left" is not why you are carrying water for Nazis.
And yes, I would argue that slightly over 50% of the voting public in America is too stupid to realize the truth. You literally just had an election that proved it out.
And you are right, the US did not get to this point overnight. Literally 50+ years of concerted, coordinated effort by Republicans to undermine democracy is what got us to this point.

Aren't these the same people who blew up over "Hillary's e-mails"? Of course, it's already well known that the people now in power are some of the most shameless hypocrites ever known. This is a point of some contention; they're using personal emails and other non-official avenues to communicate, while all official government communication must be done with the user's full name through sanctioned, secure channels. It's a huge security risk and a huge way to dodge exposure and culpability to do otherwise. It is, in government agencies I'm familiar with, also a sanctionable offense, up to and including termination.
They're going out of their way to avoid leaving a traceable trail.
