I'd bet there's enough fully deserving conspirators to fill the place again. (No need to worry about the water supply problem - they'll receive the same standards concerning prisoner rights, health care and safety as they enforced so enthusiastically.)

It's going to be a complete shitshow once these goons are thrown out. As you say, a lot of them should be headed to jail. Not prosecuting them isn't an option - we're right now watching how that turns out - but when a future government starts prosecuting these people for their very real crimes, there will be a lot of people* saying it's just Democrats doing the same thing as Trump's political revenge prosecutions of the totally made-up crimes of Clinton, Comey and James.

*A lot of MAGA arseholes, sure, but I'll bet dollars to donuts that the NYT will also run some version of "Democrats rightly condemned Trump's politicisation of the DoJ and must not do it themselves"

As they always are and probably always will be unless we have a moment of sanity and adopt ranked choice voting (or equiv).

22 of the 32 elections since 1900 have been won with a majority of the popular vote.

You should definitely still get rid of the electoral college and adopt ranked choice voting, but it's not the case that elections are always won by a plurality and not a majority.
