While amusing, not sure what could really be done about it, especially if you have a front-loader.The important question is, did they add "Help! You put us in the washing machine again!" functionality? The sensors are all there…
I was pretty underwhelmed with this announcement. I don't have a problem with Apple's ridiculously high prices on these, I really don't.
But at these prices, I was expecting them to offer a lot more than things you can get from 40 dollar earbuds. They have to start doing more to justify the premium price on these things.
For example, the mic quality on bluetooth earbuds has always been, and continues to be terrible. And if anyone can do something about it, it's apple with their closed ecosystem.
We need a helluva lot more bandwidth for those microphones if we want the quality to be any good. We're finally starting to see this on some PC gaming headsets, so I was really hoping apple would be the first mover for higher mic quality on earbuds.
Would be nice if the phone would alert you ("hey, sure you just want to charge one of them?") and/or if the case had separate charging indicators for case, left, and right airpod.I'm just wondering if these will actually charge both AirPods consistently. That's my biggest gripe with the first gen AirPods Pro. I have two sets and they both fail to charge one side regularly enough to be annoying.
I think the external arrangement of tissue and hair affects the sounds that enters the pinna. So while the AirPod sits inside, it can model those interactions to make it sound as though you're listening with naked ears.I'm interested to learn why they're doing personalised soundstaging on devices that sit inside the pinae?

Understandably Apple will not do this, but more colors would be really nice and appreciated. Why not black/midnight, Product Red, a blue one and a rose or else. They are iconic white Apple brand-shouters, but damn colors would be nice...

A new adaptive transparency mode can also offer more dynamic tuning to drown out louder things like vehicles or concerts

Agreed. I'd go for these if they would release another color option, maybe black or gray. I just don't really like the bright white look.
Case covers are not a solution. I don't care about the color of the case, just the parts that go in my ears.

There is a 3rd party solution: https://www.colorware.com
Transparency mode works with all audio, including phone calls. At a concert, transparency mode would be great for attenuating the sound when it gets loud enough to damage hearing.A new adaptive transparency mode can also offer more dynamic tuning to drown out louder things like vehicles or concerts
Does the transparency mode work while on phone calls? because otherwise, it seems to be pretty weird to be wearing AirPods at a concert .
Kinda missing the ear bud design instead of the in-ear design. No matter the brand, in-ear headphones always feel strange in my ear canal and easily slide out. I know I'm in the minority since I rarely see others noting the same slide out issue.
And yes, I clean my ears regularly thank you.

The biggest update to me was the capacitive sensor to determine you're sliding you finger. So you can now finally adjust volume from your ear.
i bought airpods pro when they came out and also a more recent pair. i love them but they give me a gross allergic reaction in my ears. regular airpods don't. i switched to different foam tips and it's better, but i'm still hoping at some point they'll use different materials.
I do this on flights all the time. My Pros don't hold a full charge anymore. So I'll charge one for 20 minutes while listening to the other.Niche question for a niche use case. Can you use one earpod at a time and does this give twice the battery life?

I forgot and left the keychain door opener in my pocket after mowing the lawn and it was making the garage door go up and down randomly while the wash cycle ran...and I could stop or start the cycle even power cycle the washer but as near as I can tell front-loaders have no way to force-release the lock mid cycle.
I suppose if you're lucky enough to be somewhere that still has a top load washer it would help.
