Ok. I'm in the group of people who finished the game. Whoo hoo -- View image here: http://episteme.meincmagazine.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif --

Anyway I've started going through it a second time with my original character. Things to note. I did get completionist first time through, I missed Level fifty by 4000 measly experience points. This annoyed me slightly. I did get scholar and tactician (surprised the hell outta me, but hey -- View image here: https://cdn.arstechnica.net/forum/smilies/biggrin.gif --)

Blah blah blah. So - lets talk about a few of the achievements. I got completionist just before I started the last set of main missions, so I figure I've seen probably 90% or more of the Paragon game. On my second playthrough I'm definately picking up the few things I did in the wrong order (yes, such things exsist - aka they make more sense done in a different order.)

Over-all, if I was to recommend a play route - pick up Liara, do Ferros, then Noveria, and on from there. Play side missions. Really, do it. Its fun. Or don't do it - thats your call. But you need to do a ton to have any chance in hell of maxing your character to 50 (max level first playthrough)

I'm fairly sure you can only get one Ally Achievement per playthrough, and when they mean the majority of the game, they aren't kidding. I had Ashley in my Party through every moment of the game it was possible to do so - and got her achievement - but I had Liara with me most of that (Left her out for Garius and Wrex's side missions) and so I figure you can get one max. I certainly could be wrong.

There are some charm/intimidate options you simply can't use on your first playthrough. Some of them require much higher charm/intimidate scores then a low level character can have.

Also, You get free points in Charm and Intimidate depending on your paragon/ renegade score, and when you replay the game with your first character, the paragon/renegade bars reset. But any free points you got last round stick around. For example - simply by becoming a spectre, you get a point in intimidate. When I started my replay and became a spectre again you get, another point. In theory, you could be nuts and max out your character in charm intimdate by playing the game 24 or so times with the same character. I'm not sure why you would. But you could.

The Rich achievement gives you access to the awesome spectre weapons from the Normandy. Its nice. Also - on second playthrough, those awesome weapons now have a bigger cousin. The X version. Infact, lots of X versions start dropping. Yay for leveled loot. And yay for awesomely highpowered weapons and armour.

I ended the first game with the max number of credits (1 credit short of a billion) and all your armour and weapons including those that were on party members do transfer. Not sure if the licenses did or not, but I assume so, because the one's I'm finding now are for companys I don't recognize and are much more expensive. Your equipment from your main actually duplicates itself once, and I think this is a minor bug, but I don't mind. You start the game wearing the armour you ended the game in, which is nice, because now I at least feel the badass I was supposed to be when I first started the last time -- View image here: http://episteme.meincmagazine.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif --

Anyway - if anyone has any questions about things they can't find, or second play throughs on a single character, let me know I'll see if I can help. (Side note - the X versions of the spectre weapons are so good, that with the proper mods, I'm going through and working at the assault rifle achievement with my Infiltrator. Who can't even train it. hasn't mattered yet. -- View image here: http://episteme.meincmagazine.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif --)
