Their CEO managed to make them so incredibly profitable in spite of this toxic culture. Can we give that man another raise or bonus. $460M over 15 years is not nearly enough for the contributions he has made. Only one suicide has got to be worth something. /s

The EPA pegs the value of human life at around $10 million, so that's still quite a profit margin. /s

Wait only one person working for Activision Blizzard has committed suicide in the last 15 years? damn that is impressive.

They have over 9500 staff and the USA has an average suicide rate of 1.4 per 10,000 people per year.

"tell me you don't understand statistics without saying you don't understand statistics."

questions to ask yourself:
a) are the employees of a companies a representative sample of the population?
b) is there a better denominator for comparison than "population of the USA"?
c) what are the instigating factors for the suicide? broadly, are suicides preventable? if they are, is it acceptable even if some subpopulation has comparable numbers to an arbitrary baseline?
d) are the allegations talking about all suicides that may have occurred at Activision Blizzard, or is it talking about a particular suicide that is special in some way, perhaps related to the nature of the lawsuit?
