Not F1 related, but it was at a F1 track... :)

I had been doing a bit of online racing with Le Mans Ultimate....and probably like every other online racing game everyone complains about turn 1 carnage at any track. LEARN HOW TO DRIVE! IDIOTS! etc... Well all I can say is that they are just following their real life counterparts.

Earlier today I hopped on YT and saw that the GT World Challenge was racing at Monza. I hopped on with oh...a handful of laps to go. They were returning to action after a SC with maybe 5 laps to go on the second lap after the SC, one car got plowed into before T1, took out a car in the chicane, barrel rolled and then took out the second place car.

The race ended up with a surprise winner.....mainly because something I missed earlier. A good part of the front of the field got taken out in Turn 1, Lap 1.

Also just remember, a lot of people currently spin all of the car changes they make for Monaco as an indictment of the 2026 cars.

F1 has brought "Monaco" spec cars to the race since at least the late 80s, early 90s. Less downforce, less engine power, in certain years were development budgets were still unrestricted sometimes a whole car and aero spec just for one race.

Changes to the cars for Monaco aren't an indictment of the regulations, they are an indictment of Monaco.

Monaco hasnt been fit for F1 purpose for a long time now and its not going to change nor will it be removed from the calendar. Its a real shame in many ways but thats how it is, Q3 will basically decide the race.
