I'm not familiar with the exact legalities involved, but supposedly, by instigating an investigation into any Democratic party members named in the Epstein files, this creates an active investigation that could prevent the files from being released.

I suspect nothing is going to happen. MAGA will continue to shift the goal posts and ignore, accept, or justify anything. It's just one more step. And when Trump is gone they will happily revert back to whatever viewpoint they want without a hint of self realization and cognitive dissonance. My one hope is that the special prosecutor ends up being a massive self own and actually finds and prosecutes things...but I doubt it. Why does it have to look like sperm? I’ve never seen information represented this way. Intentional? Is this a template in Excel?

Also if there was an intention to have more email threads referencing Trump then the data will heavily lean that way.

I don’t want to make assumptions on the full files especially since the DOJ has been instructed to redact all anything mentioning Trump.

In addition to that: it won’t make a difference till the MAGA cult acknowledges these crimes. At the moment Trump isn’t a criminal because of shady moral justifications x, y, and z by half the country.

The x-axis is the year, so the thickness in the y-axis represents the number of emails that year.

For some reason, this style of visualization where the data appears to be sort of “floating” in space (rather than growing out of the x-axis) seems to be popular with the NYT. I think it is an attempt to make plots more graphical, less dry.

In this case the shape is obviously a bit unfortunate. Although, I wonder if they were more thinking “fingerprint.”
