There are 4 options as I see it :

1. Leave things as they are
2. Use two factor authentication. (Touch ID + PIN)
3. How about using multiple fingers in sequence known only to user ? No idea if it's possible but,
let's say thumb = (t) , index = (i), ring = (Ri) , l = left hand, r= right hand
so I can can have sequence like lRi + lt + rt + lRi + ri ?
I know it's not fool-proof, & it still suffer from same flaws, but I think it also makes it a way bit harder by
bringing in multiple fingers & sequence.
To think about it it's same like passwords where we have individual/combined set of 26 alphabets (52 if, upper case & lower case), 10 numbers, & symbols. Here it's only 10 fingers & their combination.
4. Use 3rd + PIN ?

Just a thought.
