I was going for a good score last night and got just shy of 40k on Intensive Care. (Not the Extreme version)

It's all about the 9x variation, and long ass combos.

The easiest way to get that variation up is to wait for one guy to run up and counter him when he attacks, then throw a few strikes, then, if no one else is in the middle of attacking (just do a counter then) use a cape stun on someone, then use the dodge to hop over them, then use the claw to stun a bunch of people, then use the batarang to knock some people down.

If you do this on Intensive Care, pretty much everyone will be on the floor. (You can't do it on the first wave so much since there are so few guys, but it works on 2nd/3rd) So do a ground pound.

You've just done:

Counter / Strike
Stun
Dodge
Claw
Batarang
Ground Pound

and the only things you'll need to do are work in the throw and the instant takedown, someone should be getting up by the time you're done with the ground pound, so do a throw on them, do the delayed hit (to get the 2x boost instead of 1x) on a couple guys, then instant takedown one of them. Also, here's a tip, the guys don't have to be standing up to do the instant takedown on them.

The counter and the strike are the only things I've seen that actually start the combo going.

If you find yourself in the situation that no one is standing up and you can't pull off a ground pound because people are too far away, just dodge towards the closest guy, it'll extend the time you have to make your next move a little bit, hopefully giving them time to get up.

Man, I want some more challenge rooms. Too bad I don't have a PS3, I could do the Joker stuff . . .

Ok.. Just finished the game.

I still feel totally ripped off that I didn't get to drive the batmobile or fly the batplane.

I also felt like the last two bosses were a bit close together. I would've preferred a bit more normal gameplay between - it seemed like they were near the end of the game and were like f-it, we need to wrap this up.

Other than that.... Great game! It brings back some sort of half-life 2 connections... Instead of puzzles you have to figure out how to assassinate villains..

Where would you drive it? You're on an island with little to no road way, flying the plane would take you away from where you need to be...in a bigger Gotham City game sure, but here there was no need for it. Oh, and this is just my opinion of course, but all the HL2 segments you mentioned, were the worst stuff about that game. Again, just my opinion. -- View image here: http://episteme.meincmagazine.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif --

Hellooo. -- View image here: http://episteme.meincmagazine.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif -- (I DL'ed the demo for the PC.)

Questions: Maybe I missed this somewhere... is this a game that was designed for the console, then ported to the PC? Mainly, I do not like the third person, rotating camera, and the left, right, back, while still looking forward. I am an FPS player, so that really bugs me! If this is a 'port', is that a consequence of porting? --- I cannot find a way to get all my NUM Pad keys to work. For instance with NUM Pad on, the Delete/Decimal key will not function/register.
You can manually (YUK) make a numbered sub folder for each time you notice a save happening, and name it appropriately. IMO, that is one of the stupidest things a developer can do, is not to allow client saves.

Your are the Batman and its your responsibility to end the joker threat (DId you never watch the cartoon?). How exactly does leaving the island end that threat? That being said I think the game was incomplete. The Harley Quin and Crok fights could have been so good its obvious they were left out for some reason or another, probably money, especially the Crok fight, they ever hint at the Crok fight in the beginning, it should have been THE fight.

Croc was definitely a missed opportunity. You didn't even get to fight him...was pretty weak. I expect more from him in the sequel. -- View image here: http://episteme.meincmagazine.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif --

As far as Harley Quinn, I think they could have made a more interesting "boss encounter" with her, where she had more stuff happening to you, but as far as how she'd stack up 1 on 1, it played out exactly how I'd imagine. Similar to Poison Ivy in that, yeah, it's a big boss fight when she's using all her plants / powers, but just her, up close to Batman, she'll get pushed over.
It probably was, but it's an excellent port. The fact that it's in third person and controls poorly with a mouse keyboard has little to do with the fact it's a port and far more to do with the fact it's not a first person shooter - so why would you expect it to play like one?

It's a third person beat-em-up/platformer game. Play it with a 360 gamepad like its designed to be. Mouse/keyboard is great for RTS and FPS's but it absolutely blows for a ton of other game genres.

There's nothing about it which inherently controls better with a gamepad than a keyboard. It's not a fixed camera platformer like Mario or...whatever the hell platformers exist nowaways...Crash Bandicoot? It's simply unfamiliarity with the character actually having to change facing when moving, instead of strafing everywhere at the same speed. Splinter Cell (when you didn't have a weapon out) and Prince of Persia worked the same way.

The Killer Croc fight sucked. Like, seriously. You make me fight the camera, then I have to do a glorified quicktime event? Fuck that. Only Hideo Kojima would think that's cool, and Kojima can kiss my ass... if he didn't spend most of his time dreaming up how space aliens originally colonized my ass to spawn an army of emo bitches with mullets.

Killing Uncharted 2's end-boss required no QTE. In a vague sense it was similarly cheesy, but the entire build-up of Croc as this hulking menace who eats human limbs in between lunch and dinner is just destroyed with unprecedented hilarity when you realize that he's really an aspiring trapeze artist whom you can defeat simply by plinking him with your glorified paper clip.
