Hey there! Did you have your account hooked up with a connected account like Facebook or Google? This should be the only case where you'd need to reset your password
I similarly had to reset, and it was only tied to AFAIK, and reset by, my email address. I was able to re-use my "old" password without it complaining, so perhaps the user DB didn't quite migrate (or finish) as seemlessly as intended? The email-based reset worked 99% and I'm in as well now. The missing 1% is I had to prove I'm not a robot by testing my pancake identification skills, and now I'm hungry.
