Apple Arcade does a decent job for the cost. No micro-transactions/freemium stuff.
Well, even THAT's debatable. It's $7/mo or $50/yr (in order to get this latter deal, you need to sub for at least one month first). Or, for those who have Apple One, it's on there anyways.
But the gaming library can be hit or miss. I heard a rumor that games on there can't have a maturity rating greater than 12+, which really limits certain content. Resident Evil, quite a few slew of FPS, etc. That isn't to say adults can't have fun on there. I certainly enjoyed my 4-month free trial a few years back*. Other complaints I heard was the lack of support for Apple TV (the hardware, streaming box), but I can understand why it's typically NOT supported... the number of iOS devices outnumbers them by miles! Yet another is many of the games end up being '+' games. Games with the '+' suffix are used to distinguish them from regular iOS games (e.g. Bloons TD 6
+ vs. Bloons TD 6). People are clamoring for more exclusives, or higher quality games from mobile.
It is nice for younger kids, not having to deal with ads, nor IAP (IAP that's extra content has to be included by default. For example, the extra/expansion levels in Monument Valleys 1 & 2). Whether or not the rumors I mentioned are true, an overall glance I've done seems to indicate that there are no mature games on there. Worst I've seen was in CV: Grimoire of Souls... Shanoa character is backless (that's how her magical glyphs work), and would be showing as much skin as a lady wearing a swimsuit.
Game Pass, Nintendo Switch Online, and even Netflix Games still gives AA a run for the money (albeit in different ways).

--Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls - although if there wasn't a loophole to fast track farming for materials, I would've written it off long ago
