I haven't watched anything on Prime since they forced ads into my already-paid-for ad-free subscription and I never will. I'd love to just cancel it outright but the free shipping just saves us too much at the moment.
We cancelled once we realized we could get free shipping for orders over $35. Takes longer sometimes, but we just saw e our carts until the threshold is crossed.

I already set my prime to cancel on renewal. This affirms the decision. I’ve had to send half the crap I buy back lately because it arrives days after it is supposed to or is a clear knock off of the real product and such poor quality as to be unusable. The whole prime price increase a few years back was supposed to cover the music and video and the music was always a joke but now the video is too. Bezos and his billionaire friends have lost touch with reality and pushed their own greed too far.

Bit by bit they are making it a worse experience than before. First they shove ads down our throats, now they are taking away 4k. Screw them. I hardly watch anything on that platform anymore because of the ads. By doing it this way, they lost me. But I'll be honest with you. If they had increased their price by $3 a month, and introduced a cheaper new default below me. I would have stayed. If they had then increased it another $2 and slid a new tier below me without 4k. I would have stayed.

They are doing it wrong. They are doing it in the way that removes what we had and demands we pay more for it to get it back. That causes anger. Not customer satisfaction.

I am proud to say I am officially Prime free. The IRL services are slow, constantly delayed and rife with mistruths and dishonesty. Is it going to be a counterfeit at retail prices?

The online services get degraded every day as they turn the screws of profit, but not those of value. The seas provide the bounty I need, with freshness and quality that doesn't even match the source.

It is very precisely both.

You're trying to justify criminal activity, full stop.

But feel free to explain to a judge how your theft wasn't a theft.
Piracy can be a crime if you do it for profit. It’s not theft. Like paying your taxi driver and then taking the money out of his pocket is theft, not paying him is not theft but something else. Even though the total result is exactly the same.

And there are subtle differences between countries. In the USA it is theft if you want to deprive the victim. In Germany it is theft if you want to enrich yourself. Not always the same.
