Ars forum updates are now here!

Sadly that's not what it used to be. To get that to appear you have to click to see comments, which does a full page refresh, then wait for comments to load so the page can jump down to the comments area, then click reader comments, then click once more. Lord help you if you've already seen some...

Ars forum updates are now here!

Is there any way we can get view comments to take us to the forum page? It's pretty much the main thing I wanted from subscribing during the last change to article comments. Before that I was just paying for Aurich's awesome images.

Subscription drive, day 4: A pitch from “Comcast’s least favorite journalist”

Ah it looks like I already turned it on and forgot! For anyone else looking it's in your profile and not on the page options in the top menu.

DirectX 12 Ultimate brings Xbox Series X features to PC gaming

I get the love for Vulkan, but calling on MS to dump DirectX and contribute to Vulkan instead just seems odd to me. OpenGL and Vulkan have had years and years of poor stewardship and no will to innovate. DirectX: Adds features Vulkan: “There go my people, I must find out where they are going so...

Google to charge Android OEMs as much as $40 per phone in EU

This isn't exactly correct. This is more like Red Hat telling computer makers they can't sell devices with Ubuntu, but Windows is fine. Open Handset Alliance makers are free to make other OS phones, just not non-Play compliant Android phones. You're either full in on the broadly compatible...

CVS just announced a super cheap generic alternative to EpiPen

That doesn't answer the question of if Adrenaclick can offered on an EpiPen prescription. They aren't alternatives to each other according to the FDA, even though both are approved for the auto-injection of epinephrine.

Google Wifi launches today for $129

It has one ethernet port for internal network use so you can put a switch on it if you have more than one wired device you need to connect to it. I replaced my router and a wonky 5 port gigabit switch recently with an OnHub (which is Google Wifi's predecessor, updated with the same features) and...

Verizon exempts its own NFL video app from mobile data caps

When I was still on VZW's unlimited data I decided to watch a game on my phone on LTE just to see how much data it would take up. About 6 gigs for a full game and some post game. It was pretty great quality admittedly. With most people on data plans less than 8 gigs, you could wipe out your...

Nexus 6 review—The “premium” price still comes with compromises

Notifications have always been available from the lock screen on Android in a non-modal form (unlike iOS until recently). They were available from the notification bar and now they are available in a more heads up manner on the lock screen itself.

Nexus 6 review—The “premium” price still comes with compromises

    Wouldn't they want a Nexus 5 then?

    Motorola’s Nexus 6 photographed—it’s a big Moto X

It's still projected to be smaller than the iPhone 6 Plus, so if you are ok with people holding that 5.5" phone to their face you should be ok with this 5.9" phone.

Hands-on: Moto G and Moto X get big screen updates—but not new names

Is it just me, or do the Moto G camera samples look much better than the Moto X samples? Less noisy in the natural light scene.

YouTube subscription plan leaks: offline play, no ads, 20 million songs

It does seem Google removes some quality levels when you disable DASH though.

Moto X is here (was hype is underway)

And now the news is they're skipping the soak and releasing starting today. Jeez Verizon, way to confound expectations!

Android devices: Deploy similar shortcuts/settings to many devices

Having a custom app made that can create accounts and add shortcuts, then deploying that app to the phones might be a really good solution for you. It could even have shortcuts to the market apps you need.
