I genuinely don't understand what the endgame is for putting all these incompetent and inexperienced people in positions of power. I realize the general administration's MO is simply back scratching and corruption, but how does any of this help even them? Does someone stand to benefit from the increased infections and death that are sure to come?

For the ideologues, to sow doubt about scientific expertise. The financial gain for those huckstering for "alternative treatments" is just to sweeten the pot to bring them on board.

China's "drama" has been playing out for centuries. To say otherwise is to ignore, like, ALL of its history.

Ultimately, this shit show is on Americans. Trump isn’t a product of one or two elections but votes casted over decades allowing horrible human beings into offices all leading to the conditions now.

It isn't limited to the US. As said many, many years ago, democracies all deserve the governments they select for themselves.

It is part of why trying to identify high risk infants failed.

Identification of high risk in this case would have to include "Does the family have any contact with people too selfish, lazy, or ignorant to get a free shot to prevent an easily transmittable disease, or those who knowingly or unknowingly have contact with such people?"

Or, we just give the vaccine to all. This ain't rocket science--just solid, well-researched other-type-of-science.
