The company has argued that without a sizable pay package, Musk could lose focus on the carmaker given his other ventures ranging from social media platform X to SpaceX and his artificial intelligence start-up, xAI.
So, they are saying he's a crappy CEO who requires tens of billions in bonuses just to do his job?
The man already owns more than enough Tesla shares - if keeping the value of those isn't enough motivation, then it's high time for a new CEO.
It's not like he's been contributing anything to the company aside from his name and some questionable decisions for a while now, and his name has been hurting more than helping these past years.
Not to mention that he just redirected a huge order of AI processors from Nvidia intended for Tesla, and desperately needed if their "autopilot" is ever going to work properly, to his personal AI company - the order contract must have been pretty shady to begin with for him to even be able to do that.
Call his bluff and let him walk - the company will be much better off without him. If he decides to divest himself of his shares, all the better - without him attached, they might actually be able to right the ship and get back on course.
There is no way I'm investing in Tesla with him at the helm, but if he were out of the picture, they might be able to become viable again.
