That Karoline Leavitt is lying and saying Denmark has enterred negotiations on the US acquisition of Greenland.

Hmm. Looking for english links. Doesnt seem anyone cares what she says anymore. Here it the news from Denmark https://politiken.dk/internationalt...hverve-Grønland-–-men-der-er-stille-fra-Trump
This is why it's so dangerous to even meet with Trump's people about matters such as this. Now the US internal story is that acquisition is on the table, so when Denmark refuse to sell, the story will be a broken deal with an unreasonable nation and Trump's regime can use that to gin up support for military intervention. Once soldiers are on the ground and a shot is fired, the US will fall into line behind their soldiers, legality be damned.

It's insane, but this is all about manipulating the US populace to go along with an invasion of an ally. Sanity and logic left the room a long time ago and now it's entirely about maximising internal support to reduce friction.

In an earlier age, Trump's envoys would have been sent back minus their bodies. People are more polite nowadays, but the response needs to be the modern version of that - a complete public repudiation of Trump and the ludicrous talk of acquisition. Any ambassadors from the US must be expelled, and their own words give ample justification to do so.

Will be an interesting bloodbath given fighting the most heavily equipped military on the planet, which incidentally will enjoy at least 30% popular support.

Seems far more practical to me that the rest of the world do something about it. Have your nation's central banks start dumping dollars and institute trade sanctions against the US. Given the US relies on purchases of its debt to keep going from year to year, shouldn't take long at all to force capitulation.
The rest of the world will quietly disconnect our trade from the US and route around the fault. We’re not doing that to help you. We’re doing that to restore sanity and normal trade for our businesses and citizens. We’re not concerned about your internal strife except in the way it helpfully undermines our own nutjobs in the same way Brexit did a lot for EU unity.

Don’t hope that the world will come together to financially force the US government to heel. Nations won’t act together like that. You have to deal with this yourselves.

Where did I remotely suggest doing so was for the primary benefit of the US?

I am repeatedly amazed here at people's ability to read my words and cast all sorts of untoward intent upon them. The line I responded to was:

I suggested a means of kneecapping the US and removing it from trying to dominate the world and force it to back down.
No one is interested in kneecapping the US. That’s what I’m saying. The response from foreign nations and blocs will be on their schedules for their interests. It’s going to be piecemeal and the Trump regime will not be undermined by it. If anything, external pressures added slowly are likely to ratchet up internal tensions.
