They're so old they don't care about the health of the environment; they'll all be dead in twenty years so it's not their problem. Their problem is the "high price" of vehicles conforming to lower emissions, but uh, I'm pretty sure that's just inflation and reflections of costs from the pandemic.Apparently these folks forgot about "the 1970s" and "air you can see"
It's the democrats fault.Who recalls the Smog over LA in the 70's and 80's? I guess we forget.

Or it's just a bunch of salty old men whining they can't buy their pavement princess giant diesel trucks that'll never pull anything.
I'm pretty sure people who believe tripe like that couldn't determine good engineering period.I would say that it is a recognition that you cannot determine good engineering by government fiat.
Also conservativesI thought enshittification only applied to the Internet.
For the love of the wee man, don't give them ideas.you know what's really gonna make cars more efficient? bring back leaded gasoline!
A professional friend explained yesterday that he is getting calls asking if his IT consultancy can take a large number of employees, meaning the ones about to get fired due to remote work. Apparently he has already begun negotiating bring people from the US government on board his company, and well outside of just IT workers. Additionally he is negotiating having them work from home because he is telling them he can do this at a reduced price than bringing them on at the office. He laughed that of course he will be doubling their salary rates to take care of benefits and profit. He wants to make cars less efficient.
This is a guy that's part of the same administration that has created a new (fake) department called the Efficiency department.
Says a lot about what this administration really wants.
Grew up watching commercials with crying Native American and pollution in waterways and skies. Signed up to be member of EPA and be active with Give a Hoot, don't Pollute.Apparently these folks forgot about "the 1970s" and "air you can see"
In a further attack on clean air and climate change mitigation, the acting administrator of the General Services Administration issued a memo late last week that barred the federal government from purchasing any zero-emissions vehicles.
Not at all. Duffy also wants to add tetra lead to the fuel again, to make america creative again.Apparently these folks forgot about "the 1970s" and "air you can see"
I just replaced my nearly 20 year old ICE Corolla with a brand-new RAV4 hybrid. It’s Canadian built, though. Didn’t think to try to get a J-VIN.Just replaced my 10 year old Mazda 3 ICE with a brand-new Japanese-made Prius hybrid.
My neighbor starts his diesel and lets it run for 30 minutes every day, before stomping the throttle to roll coal on his way to work. Wakes me up at 5AM almost every morning.Apparently these folks forgot about "the 1970s" and "air you can see"

The life expectancy of a US male is ~77 years, so he's only ~24 years away.Dr Gitlin
Duffy is only 53.
Checks out.they'll all be dead in twenty years so it's not their problem.
It makes complete sense, given that this administration is dedicated to maximizing the use of fossil fuels. Drill baby drill.I don’t get that. Just straight up no electric vehicles no matter the circumstance? Does that include stuff like the post office? That just doesn‘t make sense
I feel like reports of the current moment in history should be etched into some kind of tablet, and put somewhere for future generations to find, so that they will be able to know why a great civilization in their past was swept into the sea, and why they now eke out a living in a dust bowl.
I don't think The Second Coming has anything to do with this. If these people actually adhered to any of the non-evil tenets of Christianity, they wouldn't behave as they do.Being old is maybe part of it but these people think Jesus is coming back any day now so may as well just strip mine the planet and get their bag on earth while they're alive, because only the sinners and unbelievers will have to deal with the ruined planet after all the believers get raptured.
Doesn't matter if Duffy is 53 or not. They keep pulling stunts like this, removing environmental protections and increasing the pollution they'll be lucky to make it another 20 years. The life expectancy of a US male is ~77 years, so he's only ~24 years away.
You mistake forgetting with not caring. They remember the 1970s as a great time where you could get away with anything and opt-out of any consequences by making a shit load of money. I mean, the latter part never really changed, but the regulations got a bit too onerous.Apparently these folks forgot about "the 1970s" and "air you can see"
Is that true? We (in the Netherlands) have an average and median age of 87 and a bit. Is it really that much of a difference? The life expectancy of a US male is ~77 years, so he's only ~24 years away.
Checks out.
With cars sold from dealerships painted with Trump branded leaded paint!you know what's really gonna make cars more efficient? bring back leaded gasoline!
These are the guys that in Rollerball would have been the ones torching trees.
