He was told by his Russian owners to destroy the US this time around. Since he doesn't want those criminal associations to be made more public (it's been an open secret in the NY real estate markets for 40 years that he was laundering money for the Russian mob!), he does what his Russian handlers tell him to do.

The issue now is that Russia is up to it's borscht in hoc to China for all the aid in their war with Ukraine. Plus China is about the only source of income Russia has these days. So China is calling the shots here with some Russian accents thrown in. And this is how Trump expects to be remembered.

Never mind that all of the things he renamed after himself will be restored and all the other projects halted and the damage reversed once he's out of office - assuming of course that the country in general survives that long.
