I call bullshit on the 'downloading while off' thing. That's just physically impossible. Low-power download-only sleep-like mode, sure, but off surely means it does nothing at all.
That irritates me when Nintendo talk about it too. WiiConnect24 works because the Wii doesn't turn itself off completely ever. A shame it doesn't do anything useful with those electrons, but...
Anyway, we'll see what Sony end up making of this, but I am curious as to what Microsoft's response is.
