I have a MIDI keyboard hooked up to GarageBand, and I'd like to use it to generate pure sine wave tones using the standard piano frequencies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piano_key_frequencies). For example, if I hit the A below middle C I should get a 220Hz sine wave exactly like the audio here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sine_wave. Is there a way to do this either by configuring an built-in instrument or with a third party add-on?

The AUSampler software instrument (included with Garage Band) has a built-in A-440 tone. I'm not at a computer that I can test it on right but if you select that and nothing else (no other sample layers, no effects, nothing) then you should be good to go.
