The only volunteers Ukrainian Army gets these days are from Latin America (paid for by NATO).

I think it would be a good idea personally.
Except that a. NATO is a defensive pact and no member state has been attacked, and b. NATO, by definition, has no role in South America.

If Argentina decided to invade the Falklands again tomorrow NATO wouldn’t come into it; the mutual defence aspect of the alliance only applies if the attack takes place in Europe or North America.

I think it would be a good idea for Ukraine's allies to fund recruitment of non-Ukrainians if Ukraine wants to and it makes sense.
Better to give/lend Ukraine cold, hard cash - as we’re doing* - and let them spend it how they think best. For another state to hire and send mercenaries to fight on one side of a conflict would be an act of war, no? Even North Korea apparently preferred to have their loaned troops used to fill posts away from the front so that Russian forces could be redeployed.

Arms and cash are one thing but sending people, even if they’re mercenaries, is another. It’s the difference between supporting an ally in a war and actually joining in.

* Even more so since Viktor Orban was kicked out on his arse.

And their Buk shot down a commercial airliner, murdering hundreds of other civilians too.
And they used the nerve agent novichok in Salisbury.

Not in the same league as an invasion but people tend to get a bit… tetchy when a foreign power exposes their citizens to nerve agents, especially when they botch it and end up killing innocent people instead of their target.
