That first thing sounds stupid. Maybe it's because I'm picturing this with an iPad slapped on its face?

Nintendo's R.O.B. robot

But cameras and doorbells? I'll take that. There are like 3 HomeKit compatible doorbells on the market, all of which have numerous drawbacks (from what I've read.)

Also, adding my obligatory complaint about an article coming out every time Gurman farts.

In "Something Ricked This Way Comes" upon its creation, the "Butter Robot" asks Rick, "What is my purpose?", in response, Rick tells it to pass the butter. Moments after completing its task, the Robot repeats, "What is my purpose?" Rick clarifies that it passes butter. It looks down realizing its sole reason for existence is for something so mundane and says "Oh my god." Rick responds "Yeah, welcome to the club, pal."
Adventure Time did it first

The Rick and Morty butter passing robot was specifically designed or limited to sit on a table and be helpful, like the rumoured Apple robot. Did the Adventure Time robot have these qualities? I didn't watch that show but what I read about it seems to say it didn't and was very different.
It was just a silly reply, but Neptr was specifically designed to throw pies and nothing more.

I think the fact that it not only questioned the purpose for its existence, but then strove to improve its life and the lives of those around it, speaks volumes about the different attitudes of the two TV programs.
