The plant build is so wild from a utility approach. It isn't the highest DPS but it's very stable high DPS regardless if you keep up on equipment, if only because fully half your skill tree adds plant or physical damage. But assuming you manually or CoC cast Thunderstorm, Entangle...damages, slows, blinds, breaks armor, hinders, and once I get Paths not Taken also poisons and maybe bleeds if I want it to? Having run around a bit with another character, you genuinely forget how much safety the plant spells grant you, and you have the easiest inroad into massive Energy Shield and/or Mana as health if you want it.
Out of curiosity, what is considered the definitive plant build? I'm using the Maxroll guide, but I've noticed opinions on the shape of the world differ...

About 3/4ths of the way through the second tier of the fortress. Using T9 maps. You can definitely tell the juice is in there. However, I haven't seen a div from a v. stone in a LONG time. Have sold a few things for a bit of exalts, and have pretty much finished replacing all my existing gear with 1 div items in each slot. Max resistances (plus some buffer for anything that reduces it), 70% chaos, 1.9k life, 3.4k ES.

I don't think there is one, besides the core of Entangle/Thunderstorm/Thrashing Vines. I'm running Oracle, Enfeeble off of Blasphemy, Leylines, different supports. There's some lineage supports that are both very expensive and very strong for the build, which is true for every build really. Entangle clears chaff so well that you really just need to tech for rares and bosses.

Yeah, I've been having fun with the plant build I've been following. Only issue I have with it is it's almost impossible to differentiate the ground spam from enemy ground spam, leading to some real sketchy moments.

That's the one I'm running. There are some other ones over on Mobalytics that use different ascendancies, but everything else seems to be about the same.
