Our favorite superhero misfits are back in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer

I just want the Vol 3 music sound track :) As someone that grew up in the 80s/90s, I missed a lot of good music that Vol 1 and 2 introduced me to, like The Rubber Band Man, Mr. Blue Sky, Hooked on a Feeling, and Come and Get Your Love
Absolutely. I've made a Spotify playlist of the first two movies' soundtracks and have been listening to them on and off for the past few years (link). Great music, really adding style and atmosphere to the movies.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a future DC counterpart of the Guardians, set in the DC version of the Multiverse.

In fact, perhaps we'll be witness to an alternate Universe where all Marvel characters are DC, and vice versa.

Of course it wouldn't be unexpected, given that many of the comic book writers and illustrators have switched back and both between Marvel and DC throughout their careers.

It already exists. The Legion of Super-Heroes was introduced in DC Comics in 1958. Probably skipped because it's not grim/dark enough for the DC movies.

Just had an animated movie release about them. As usual, it's from the perspective of one of the Supers (Supergirl in this instance, but Superboy has done it as well) travelling forward to study with them.

The problem is people tend to get confused with the Legion of Alternate Superheroes, the reserve squad as it were, because they have all the silly people like Infectious Lass, Arm Fall Off Boy, and Matter Eater Lad.

Being set in the 30th+ Century, however, does make them the equivalent of the original Guardians of the Galaxy, who were the 30th Century Avengers (one of them even had Steve's shield). The current line up, however, got their name from the future Guardians of the Galaxy after some messing about with time travel.

Waddaya mean? Tenzel Kem is awesome. He saved the whole universe by eating The Doomsday Machine!
Sure, he's no Chuck Taine (Bouncing Boy), but Tenzel Kem takes a bite out of crime!

BTWs, it is the Legion of Substitute Heroes. They're not all losers, several of them made the cut for the A-team in time. Ambush Bug vs the Legion of Substitute Heroes is one of the greatest comic books ever.

Plus, how can you beat the Legion of Super Pets?

I don't know if I trust an organisation that includes Comet The Super-Horse. That whole thing with being Kara's boyfriend, and her horse, and...ewww...

See Also: Antonyms: DC movies.

I'm not quite sure how Marvel does it, and continues to do it. Some are better than others, but they are all good. All you have to do is watch any DC movie and their attempt to replicate the formula. Great Value superhero movies. (IMO, Bale's Batman movies are the exception, and the first 3/4 of Wonder Woman)
Imo, the difference is that the superheroes/villains in the DC universe tend toward being archetypes, while those in the Marvel universe tend toward being characters. I think this is true of the comics they draw from, too; I always found the Marvel stories much more relatable, the DC versions being more like something biblical or drawn from a philosophy tome.

I agree with this.

Take something like the first Iron Man movie. It could easily be a non-superhero film: Tony Stark, a wise-cracking, billionaire, genius weapons designer (Robert Downey Jr) gets kidnapped in Afghanistan and realizes that his weapons are not making the world safer. So, he decides to redirect the company to alternative energy, but company CEO Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges) maneuvers to oust him from the company, and in a third-reel twist, we discover that he was the one who hired Tony's kidnappers. In the climax, Tony, with the help of Pepper, devise a complex legal/financial maneuver to get back control of the board and send Obadiah to prison.

Ultimately, Iron Man is not about the suit--it's about Tony and his character growth. It's about a man who has everything and yet nothing, who finally, almost when it is too late, discovers what he really wants to do with his life.

In contrast, take something like Man of Steel. What is the story about, if you remove the superheroes/supervillains? Is it about a Clark Kent learning that it is OK to let your dad die for a higher purpose? Is it about learning that sometimes you need to kill to save people?
