Favorite tech of 2017: Twitter's 280 character limit. No more sorting through numbered tweets, and more importantly, since the 280 limit came out many people largely thought to be hypocritical donkeys have made themselves complete fools via Twitter rants. the 280 character rants are worth far more laughs, and bring out worse behavior and thoughts, then 140 ever did.
Least favorite tech: The pixel 2. Google continues to charge way, WAY too much for what should be a nexus device, slapping every nexus fan in the face with a reminder of how much it costs to join the google club, while still only providing half the updates that apple does, suffering from numerous hardware bugs like the screen and dongle bugs which should have been ironed out long before release, and removing the headphone jack just as a final screw you (seriously, $1k for an android phone with only 2 years of feature updates and 3 of security? Screw that).
The nexus 5 was a fine phone with fewer problems fora fraction of the price of the pixel phone. The pixel simply continues to be a reminder of how out of touch google is becoming.
The iphone X is a close runner up, for its hardware problems, fragile design, and absurd pricetag, but cant really nominate it worse then the pixel because apple continues to sell the flagship price iphone 8/8+, and the wonderful iphone SE.
