I think we all agree Google sucks and should abdicate 3/4 the programs they are in charge of, and return like 90% of the money which is responsible for most or all the inflation the last two decades. It's like all they've been sitting in their offices shitposting how regulations are bad and duplicating the functionality of apps and websites is great and profitable fun. Even greater are the few apps printing money by undermining established societal order. That they and their spiritual ancestors only become wealthy and "unstoppable" by buying the courts and now the government... well that's simply how things work. You would do the same if you were in a position to do so, you're only mad they did it first.

To be clear I get plenty of benefit from things Google employees have built and maintained, and I actually think a monopoly can be good in certain situations, and telecommunications technology is one place where it could and nearly does work, but it seems to me they have such a large amount of money they feel compelled to in some sense put on a show to make sure everyone continues to believe they deserve it. Simpler words if Android went back about a decade and was managed roughly the way Mozilla handles Firefox, that would be good. I don't need or want the UI to randomly move or be slightly redesigned, especially when that was possible before it was made unpossible so someone would have something to do at work. But that last sentence is a widespread situation caused by that first paragraph and the vast majority unable to logically and mostly objectively assess reality and understand there literally is not that much shit that needs done and the entire problem is unequal distirbution of resources and ignorance of human rights.

And you know, I actually think if any one understands this it is those tech industry workers. They are kind of in the opposite paradoxical inverse double bind as I am. Or maybe I'm giving them too much credit based upon what I would do if I were in a position to do so

Goodnight

I've seen reports that some of these agentic browsers can be manipulated to break normal security protocols. No user action required other than visiting a page with "human unreadable" prompts embedded. They hijack and avoid safety. Nice if you want criminals to see your bank logon credentials.

I'm referring to this preference at the bottom, right on the opening General page of Settings:

And since "Chat" doesn't do more than display sites with predefined URLs in the sidebar, to my knowledge the above is the only feature that concerns the use of the built-in model, thus also disabling browser.ml.enabled seems unecessary (though it can't hurt).

There is something called Link Preview.
browser.ml.linkPreview.enabled
(Most of EU domains are by default blocked)
