Eww

Ads on my tv, ads on my browser, my games.....now my phone? Honestly....the last time I bought a product because of an ad was three years ago. It was for a brazilian beer, and it had a really really hot latin lady in a yellow bikini.

Tho on that note, I could see cellphone ads ending in comedy.

Your sitting in a meeting, your phone has been idle for 5 minutes, suddenly it lights up with an ad for some random weird porn site, complete with moaning sound effects.

Well, in that case... when did you last buy a product that you didnt know it existed? Oh wait, is that even possible? -- View image here: http://episteme.meincmagazine.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif --

Don't get me wrong, I prefer ad-free content, too. But all ad-publishers need companies running their ads to keep the prices at "moderate levels". Marketing is essential, it enriches our economies.

Of course nobody wants the users to feel annoyed by their ad. But if 90% were to be annoyed by it, 10% didn't mind and half of those who didn't mind decide to click the ad... that's already a huge success for the advertiser.

Cheers,

Torben @ cellity
