  • Expanded taskbar personalization options, including alternate taskbar positions and a smaller taskbar
Good. But my Win10 stays Win10 until 11 restores the Quick Launch toolbar. Pinned apps don't cut it, because they move around horizontally if labels and ungrouping are enabled.

If they wanna do halfsies, a checkbox for "keep pinned icons on the left" would partly get there, but that would still prevent me from having shortcuts to specific folders, or shortcuts with custom command flags.

My suggestion for everyone's personal Win11 PC is to do the following:
  • ...
  • Disable S0 sleep (enable the old style S3 instead)
What is the advantage of doing this?
S0 sleep is also known as Modern Standby. It retains a network connection while asleep and can semi-wake itself to run/update stuff. Side effects may include battery drain, running hot inside your bag, or not waking up; YMMV. Not all BIOS's have a setting to reenable classic S3 sleep. (The MS page claims a BIOS setting can't change it without an OS reinstall, but this was not true in my experience.) I vaguely remember it being buggy enough on my old laptop to disable it and curse its name.
