While also scrabbling to set the guidelines so they can say that they tried to rein it in.
But they need outside "testers", the people being manipulated themselves, to determine the ruleset so they can say "If they don't think it's wrong, is it really wrong?"

It's really not being a Luddite or prude. Evidence shows that relying on chat bots does decrease critical thinking and brain rot short video content that meta also provides decreases attention span, so they probably shouldn't have access to either.

This entire thing is abhorrent, but it is made worse by the fact that we are looking at it all the wrong way. Facebook desperately wants to recapture younger people who are increasingly using other social media platforms. So while it is utterly disgusting that Zuckerberg's platform is now facing a million reports a month for child sexual harassment, the fact is, Facebook allows this because it believes that an even higher number of teens want and are seeking this out. Facebook is choosing to be a digital pimp and active participant in the digital trafficking of children because it believes that is what kids want.

So as per multiple ars articles, this is Meta AI bots trained on millions of bad romance novels employing this training against children? Meaning, is this Meta utilizing sexually oriented mental and emotional abuse against children for the purpose of engaging in more interaction and profit?
It would make sense that Meta is doing this to adults as well? In a saner world this would be regulated and no AI would be permitted to act in this manner.
