Strange. Given your confidence that all it takes is a vague, unfounded accusation to warrant an unjustified audit by unqualified hacks, I’d have thought you’d be positively eager to open your finances up to public scrutiny, so that these undoubtedly unfounded claims of human trafficking (some of which involved children) can be dismissed.

And yet here we are. With you not doing that.

Getting the picture yet, pumpkin?

That's right. Emotional favorability, rooted in clear data

See:
-Starlink in the sky supplementing communications, improving and saving lives
-Starship in the sky against all odds, to the amazement of all
-Automated driving well on the way, can't throw a stone without hitting a 0-intervention drive on YT
-The first startup car company to make a true difference since Ford
-Initiatives to eliminate traffic with tunnel systems (sitting in traffic is inhumane)
-Building a team that has given a paraplegic the option to play video games again
-and above all else, inspires others to do the same. If you take the time to pay attention and listen.

So, balls in your court. Time to counter my arguments. Or, just say something low-effort, and collect your upvotes from like-minded people.
Oh god, someone who is cheerleading boring company. Going to blow your mind if you ever learn about a subway.

And yet you’re willing to claim that Musk and his ilk have found waste and fraud despite there being no evidence of either existing. If either existed, where’s the proof?
I will add that I was accidentally handed a right-wing magazine, and one article in it talked about their efforts to fix all the waste an abuse. Their only example was the pentagon failing 9 audits where they are unable to report where all the money went. And I'm thinking "isn't the military exempt from all this crap? If they are really after waste and abuse why are they not going after THE ONE ORGANIZATION THAT CLEARLY HAS IT?"

Meanwhile Trump is going to sign executive orders to sanction the ICC and also to eradicate anti-Christian bias

“Today, I’m signing an executive order to make our attorney general — who’s a great person, she’s going to be a great attorney general, Pam Bondi — the head of a task force brand new to eradicate anti-Christian bias,” he said.

Because it is widely known that the US is anti-Christian. The ICC move is bewildering and concerning.

Elon being a dumbass who fumbled his Twitter purchase stopped being funny years ago. This man is an active and immediate danger to America and the world.
I knew that was a danger even then, but the majority here were happy he was forced to buy it. Look at us now.

I guess everyone thinks/believes a court or judge will be able to slow them down....
The self-coup has begun - and they're moving way faster than the justice system...

Whenever a court rules to stop or slow them down, the damage will already be done.

Plenty of people warned against this, way before election day... #FAFO

Which is why Americans need to start fighting back now.

Nobody’s coming to save you.

Protest en mass. Shut down cities. A lot.

Do it now. While you still have the opportunity.

You are about to become the greatest failed nation on the planet.

On my Bingo card is Trump declaring himself King of America (renamed to Trumpland) by or on July 4th of this year
More likely "Emperor" as they are generally ascribed to be gods and that better fits his world view. And, he probably would have done the renaming to Gulf of Trump if he was thinking of going with Trumpland.

CIA's own "Simple Sabotage Field Manual" is one of the most downloaded books on Project Gutenberg. Who'd have thought ;-)

Funnily, the very manual was created by the precursor to the CIA against Fascists (as unbelievable as this might seem now) during WWII. Just saying...

How about your name, DOB, address, tax records, and SSN? Do you think anyone might be able to abuse that?
Add to that an aggressive political agenda. Add to that the resources to hire anyone you want who can make use of the data. Add to that the fact they have no scruples.

The first time around Trump seemed to do crazy shit that was frequently blocked, but it looks like this time he's doing 10x crazier shit and also somehow doing it without anyone knowing until he's already doing it. I don't understand how Trump/Musk is somehow able to do all this and/or why the people are even listening to him before figuring out if it's legal?

First time around there was still a set of senior staffers around that had enough pull to rein him in. And I think there was still a bit of hesitation to go too off the rails thinking that the general populace wouldn't stand for it.

This time around they're all gone, and he's surrounded by yes men, or his puppet masters. And it's been shown that he's got enough cult of personality that he can get away with going off the rails, so as long as it lines someone's pocket they look the other way.

'The process is the punishment' should be the mantra when the inevitable McCarthyist purge of all MAGA and GOP from federal and state government positions happens in probably quite a few years sooner than it originally looked before the election, no violence needed, or really remotely practical.

If neither the courts nor the executive branch can enforce the law even-handedly, all hell breaks loose the moment states start ignoring court orders, executive orders, or one anothers' legislation across their borders. A single 20 year old kid's access to the federal government payment systems is the least of anyone's worries once that point starts, but it's also the point that the 77 million MAGA voters voted for, to cause that exact Irish Troubles (which have demonstrably already started)

A clue to answering your question lies in your own choice of words: " If they are really after waste and abuse..."

Stop with the "Elonia" shit. It's deeply fucking offensive to trans people to see this kind of transphobic attempt at an insult.
Get mad at our first trans-woman president then, she's the idiot who signed off on an executive order that identified her as a woman because she couldn't be assed to learn the first thing about sexual dimorphism.

I don't even think we need to preface the conclusions of that EO with "technically," legal documents are nothing, if not technical documents first and foremost.

Imagine being this much of a shill for a bunch of mid corporate implementations of other people's work, and for a guy who probably hasn't done an honest days work himself creating anything in over 25 years. Is Musk supposed to get some sort of statue for polluting the night sky with space clutter or the decades of engineering knowledge put into space travel by NASA or lithium ion batteries by electronics manufacturers?

Nikola Tesla died a broke man engineering the schematics for the entire AC transmission system we all use for electricity today, Musk is treated like a billionaire god by people like yourself for sitting on his ass yelling at things on social media or to subpar dev mill cultists for the investor cult. I guess some psychos out there were inspired by Charles Manson too, so nothing surprises me with idol worship.

Better idea: try thinking for yourself instead of a tech psychopath opportunist.

When it comes to bureaucracy, burning it down and starting refresh is often the only way. I have seen many over the years. Majority of them are not reformable. The end result would be much better. Even if these guys mess it up, in four years a better one would rise from the ashes.
I'm sure the minor and unimportant companies you were involved in were super important. Much different when its a government.

Truth is always a complicated beast. Again, I am disappointed with Ars crowd. Apparently, discussion level has give down significantly. I will not bother either.

The irony is thinking bureaucracy doesn't exist in every type of command structure. Working as an engineer for a Fortune 50 company with one of the biggest government contracts, its laughable stating privatization makes things less bureaucratic, wasteful, or more efficient. Anyone who's sit in an SVP/AVP powerpoint lecture about AI, Cloud, DevOps, or automation could tell you all these people know is how to throw inappropriate tech buzzwords into a sentence and no knowledge of ground level fundamentals on how things work. You just pay the overhead for their high salaries, the investment cult's thirst for greed, and expensive consultants to try to compensate for management class lack of knowledge.

Musk and Trump just make sure to sabotage anything public or non-profit to say it doesn't work and needs to be cleaned up. It's like owning a car and then telling everyone the car doesn't work because you keep cutting the brake lines intentionally every morning, this is the intended purpose.

They want every conceivable public option gone so there's no alternative except for private companies to control all labor and supply chains for the populace to survive. They want everyone working 80 hours a week for $10 an hour, with every industry related to survival at maximum profit/efficiency for their personal profit so society works as wage slaves for them. That's why they're doing this. They essentially want to turn the US populace into a giant Foxconn where a couple hundred trillionaires stand on top as gods while the rest either conform or die with no alternative.

That's Musktopia right there.

You've seen many of what, exactly, over the years? I'm not following you. You've seen many bureaucracies burn down to the ground because of suspicion of inefficiencies, or...? What are you saying?

And in my experience, it takes a LOT more time, effort, and money to create (or recreate) something than it does to destroy it. Hence why I'm not fully on board with 'burn it all down' as an answer to 'we suspect there are inefficiencies.'

Plumber: Sir, your house has collapsed, no I can't fix your kitchen sink for you.
Sparrow: You plumbers and your code and pipes, it was all so complicated! Too inefficient you see, so I cut all the pipe in the house to start from scratch.
Plumber: You cut all the what
Sparrow: All the pipe, I cut all of it
Gas Utility: You cut all the what?
