In Secret Invasion, set in the present-day MCU, Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.

I haven't checked it out yet, but apparently you can watch the first five minutes below:

I watched Loki and the latest Ant-Man and GoG3 and I think the Shield TV show up to the end but I haven't had time or desire to watch the Bucky and Birdguy series or whatever else there is. If the Avengers are out of the game, is it covered in some show? Or did that happen after Endgame and just didn't get much coverage? Ant-Man seemed to imply they are still around but covering other stuff or whatever. They really need to get their writers to think about how to have a movie with some impact without immediately going to 'end of the world/universe but the Avengers are too busy' stakes.

The Avengers "disassembled" because the massive threat to the universe-Thanos-is gone. Now the members have gone on their own adventures, ready to reassemble whenever another unique threat (Kang the Conqueror) appears.

If I remember correctly:
Thor left Earth to fight Gorr the God Killer. That was a threat to brings deemed gods, but not to the universe as a whole.
Guardians of the Galaxy are running Knowhere, and in the recent movie they split up as well.
Captain Steve Rogers retired, and the former Falcon is the new Captain America.
Hawkeye is semi-retired, and Kate Bishop is taking his place. She hasn't met the other Avengers yet.

Finding out the Fury is married, or at least seems to be, it reminded me of something from CA:WS that has always kind of bugged me when I watch it. When Pierce is questioning Rogers about why Fury was there why doesn't he just say what Fury told him about his wife kicking him out. It's actually more accurate than Rogers saying he didn't know why Fury was in his apartment. Sure it's still not the whole truth but it is, based on the audio recordings, why Fury was there.

So was G'iah in on the fake-out about the real location of the bombs or did she think the bags had the bombs and was legitimately helping Fury and Talos? Since the bags were just filled with clothes it would seem to be obvious that she'd know the bags were empty so would be helping to set the trap. But she certainly doesn't seem to be all bought in on Gravik's plans due to her other actions we've been shown and also feels like Gravik doesn't fully trust her so could have kept her in the dark about the real plan for that day.

Damn, Rhodey's speech, or possibly Skrhodey's speech, was delivered most excellently.

Yeah, that was really well delivered. It's kind of a shame this is the first time they've really given him that much space to show what he can do. When you have an actor of Cheadle's caliber, let the man do his thing.

I'm liking the show so far, but MCU spy show was kind of primed to be up my alley at this point.

Not sure how this is passing folks by, it's a really good show and is really digging deep into the character of Nick Fury while also setting up the Secret Wars movies. This last episode really got into the Skrull invasion stuff, Gravik even revealed the existence of Super Skrulls, right out of the comics. Will be interesting to see where the comic book story and this one split off.

I have to say, Gravik's been a great big bad for the series; smart, ruthless, executing a well thought-out plan. His eventual defeat in the finale will feel well earned.

But holy shit do I haaaaaateeeeee Skrhodey. I don't know how much of it is the writing/story versus Cheadle but Skrhodey is really the first MCU villain IME who I've so desperately wanted to see someone stomp a mudhole in his chest before separating his head from his shoulders (And boy howdy do I hope it's Rhodey who gets to do it.) I mean, John Walker is a close second but he did get absolutely clowned part-way through F&WS which I think took some of the edge off.
