Is it worth watching?

Have you somehow missed the hundreds of thousands of posts extolling the virtues of Babylon 5? I'm talking just here on Ars. I think between that and Farscape, those are the two most beloved series on this forum... Don't even say "but fire...." That's in a class all by itself.

Personally, I love SG-1. There were about 3-5 years I was basically putting on B5 or SG-1 and letting them play while I was home. And I would slip in Buffy the Vampire Slayer as well.

B5 starts out rough. The series does not have the best actors. But it also has some of the best actors. But that first season starts all kinds of threads that weave through the entire series and lays some eggs that hatch over the course of the series. It is very cool when you connect the dots and realize they made an effort to tell a cohesive story and tried to take it seriously.

Yes.

Some episodes strike pretty close to home in today’s political climate though. Ouch.
The political officer that came aboard and tried to redefine things to make the leaders look better... I see direct correlation between her and numerous people both in the administration and also in news media.

There were also the journalists taken off Air and replaced with pro hands mouth pieces. Sound familiar?

You guys are giving me the itch to rewatch seasons two to four. And I can't because I still need to watch Daredevil: Born Again, Last of Us season one, and Wednesday season one.
my wooden nickel... I could not recommend Last of Us more. Love the game, Love the series. Season one they knocked it out of the park. And Season two looks like it will be another. Might be one of the greatest series for me, right next to The Wire and Get Smart and Arrested Development.

There was lots of stuff in the late eighties and all of the nineties I was either late to, or did not see until after it was done. Firefly was more like, "hey wasn't there a show..." I thought it was my imagination. With B5, I only ever caught bits and pieces and had wild misconceptions about the show. When I finally did get around to seeing it I was like "oh, I see..."

With American Gothic, I think someone gifted me the DVD box set which is how I knew about it. This is not a science fiction series. It is horror, and a really great series. Underrated in the sense I never hear anyone talking about it.

you are kinda stirring a need to watch this... yet again. I have seen it several times and have all... most? of the movies including the recent animated movie. There is one movie I believe I do not have because it was not a very good Cthulu homage.

This is interesting

There have been several cast get-togethers at DragonCon and they usually are a lot of fun.
this was 2013. Most of the main cast is still alive and of those, only Bruce Boxleitner was unable to attend. So it's practically a full house. Missing Jeff Conaway, Andreas Katsulas, and Richard Biggs (i tried to call him Stephen), Michael O'Hare, and Tim Choate. :( It's also a long one, nearly two hours. Unfortunately, more recent panels have fewer cast. I did not see any panels that included the others though they may be out there. This is a 20th anniversary panel which may be why so many attended.

He is still very active on social media.. or was a few months ago. I have not been on social media for some time.

But yeah, he still answers questions. A lot of people ask him about rebooting B5 and he has to remind people WB own it, not him.

I asked him about Jeremiah and he said it was the worst experience he ever had or something to that effect. I had no idea. I really liked that show so that was sad.
