Google turned on Gemini in my Gmail and gives me absolutely no way to disable it or remove the button.

Apple doesn’t force updates,

They force devs to update their apps and they aggressively deprecate apis.. meaning apps stop supporting old os versions. So yes, apple does force updates.

I have an ipad that can't run the youtube app anymore because it requires an OS I can't install.

APIs changing is one thing(it happens), but I’ve never heard of forced updates “or else”. Have a link you could share? I’d love to read up on it. Ironically, when I searched all that was coming up was developers asking if there was a way to force their users to update to a new version.
