I find myself wondering why. What about Apple Intelligence is so in the interest of Apple, the company, that it forces an annoying, not-ready-for-primetime feature on its customers? I’ve tried AI for several things on iPhone and iPad and each time it slowed me down getting to what I wanted so accomplish. I like to save time and effort. I use shortcuts and keyboard macros when writing using my Mac. Using Apple Intelligence has always provided me with something I didn’t want or expect. My experience has been worse than the very earliest days of Siri.
The answer is quite simple.

The day Apple announced its then-upcoming AI features, its stock value broke a new historical record.

Every corporation is rushing into AI because the dumbass speculative stock market demands it.

It doesn't matter that AI is a worthless waste of energy, because if you invest in it, your stock value automatically increases, and therefore that's all that matters in our shitty capitalist hellscape.

Late stage capitalism, ho.

Except it's pretty fucking obvious that the back-end infrastructure supporting it probably took a decade to build.
What a weird-ass take, it's "pretty fucking obvious" that Apple Intelligence is a hastily-put attempt to capitalize on the current AI hype bubble and not some decade-old grand plan.
