How to deal with a scam artist that the target doesn't want to push to FBI?

So we got an email from an escort in Utah forwarding what is obviously someone impersonating a staff member (yes, I'm sure) to lure the escort to Florida. Probably not a good thing. Fortunately she is smart enough to not reply, and even forwarded the email to us (so she must have looked up the name and checked us out-smart). We reported the email to Yahoo, and debated reporting it to FBI as well (there is a phone number in the email), but she would prefer not to do that as it might affect her adversely (I understand that). But can we at least check if that number is a throwaway and if not (let's hope) spam the crap out of it? Any suggestions of good places to post phone numbers to get them picked up by fax spam and telemarketers? Even a mild inconvenience would be worth it to me, but maybe I'm just overly vindictive.
