Quite the opposite. They split S2 into two seasons. More episodes in total to cover the given source material. Unfortunately this left S2 with a lot of time to fill and not a lot of narrative to fill it with because the big changes, big fights, and big payoffs got bumped to S3.Huh. I thought it got cancelled.
The primary source material is Fire and Blood, a fictional history of the Targaryen kings written by George R.R. Martin.
The good news is you don't need to wait through multiple seasons to be disappointed by this one. When the series is over, if it has a real ending I'll check it out. Simply not interested in investing time to end up being burned by this franchise again, they lost my trust.
He's just been too busy working on "The Winds of Winter"George RR Martin has kinda disowned this series.
He's not even promoting it on his blog.
Good decision - the structural leadership and core creative voices remain identical to Season 2, the expanded staff was largely brought in to help map out the massive pacing acceleration needed for Season 3's major battles...When the series is over, if it has a real ending I'll check it out. Simply not interested in investing time to end up being burned by this franchise again, they lost my trust.

I'm not trying to yuck other people like but I'm done with the series. I'm tired of shows filled with unlikable characters who do shitty things.
Its losely based on the period English of history called the Anarchy. The Empress Maud throne was usurped by Stephen leading to civil war. This is the point where Maud took back the throne but pissed everyone off allowing Stephen to make a comeback.I gave up somewhere near the end of S1 for similar reasons. I realized about partway through the last episode I watched that I don't care about any of these characters, because I don't find any of them particularly likeable except the king, but I know he's basically a lame duck and at that point had basically become a background piece anyway. The only other character besides the king that I liked was the teen Rhaenyra from the first few episodes, but that didn't last long.
I guess having almost every single character on screen be a scheming, conniving asshole all the time just isn't my thing.
The ending will be Aegon II is allowed to rule for the rest of his life but is succeeded by one of Rhaenyra's children. When the series is over, if it has a real ending I'll check it out. Simply not interested in investing time to end up being burned by this franchise again, they lost my trust.

It's almost like it's a bad idea to make a 4 season TV show from one or two chapters in a fictional history that depicts probably the worst of people in an already pretty bad dynastic reign.I gave up somewhere near the end of S1 for similar reasons.
