More seriously on the (battery) size matters, I get the transient benefits of even a tiny battery like that but from a utility point of view even 10kg more battery weight at the expense of maybe a smaller electric motor generator would give you the ability to get into town and back without emitting any exhaust and would give you much more regen braking capacity which is no bad thing, (in itself increasing electrical range). Maybe any aspect of increased utility dilutes the Corvette image?

There have been purely electric sports cars- the one that Musk launched beyond Mars. In comparison with the Lotus Elise on which it was based, except in straight line acceleration, the weight made it very mediocre.

Why do you think a smaller MGU would help?
If the electric motor is being used for regen braking then it is a motor generator- not in the sense of an F1 MGU, putting energy back into the battery while braking.

Just looked up the McLaren Artura which has a 7.4 kWh battery giving a 19 mile electric range. I'm sure McLaren drivers also don't want to buy a Bolt but the McLaren solution seems more useful than the Corvette's minimally functional virtue signalling, and no this does not mean the Corvette would cost as much as a McLaren. As well as any 'green' issues, using any internal combustion engine for a 2/3 mile journey especially if done regularly, is not good for the mechanicals. So being able to do this sort of short trip running just on battery is definitely good for any car
