I have been interested in Exodus, a sci-fi RPG. This trailer shows a bit of game play... though it is so quick-cut edited it doesn't show much imo. I am not thrilled with this trailer. That is an issue with the trailer, not the game itself as I don't think I got a good feel for the game.

But some of the character designs look... odd.

I want to see some straight gameplay, uninterrupted by quick cuts like an MTV music video.

So are they just gonna end the story before it's done and ship it like KOTOR2?

Seriously though, I don't play a lot of RPGs, but I've got a soft spot for anything linked to KOTOR

This. Which is why the base game of TOR (the meh-mor-pah-guh) for the eight different classes is still one of my favorite gaming experiences.

Ace Combat 8 also got announced. Naturally, the story looks utter nonsense but it looks beautiful. Though the cover plane looks to be an F/A-18F, which is meh.

OH BOY! I can't wait to play more of the Super Anime Fighter Jet Dating (Flight) Sim!

For real, Ace Combat 7 was ridiculous but a great time. I'm hopeful.

Control Resonant is definitely a must-buy for me when it comes out. Especially if they end up with the same accessibility controls of the first.

I'm looking forward to the melee-focus, too.
It's a pity those controls went in after I'd thrown the controller at a wall and deleted it. If they've learned their lesson, then I'm there at the start.

I never got into the Ace Combat series; I should probably look at it at some point, but I've already got Falcon BMS sitting on my drive waiting for me to learn it.

I still spend most of my flight sim time in DCS' AH-64D, and have also recently added the UH-60L (a freebie indie mod for DCS). I want to fly the F/A-18 in DCS, but they're no longer getting any of my money, so.. Blah.

Ah, the rituals worked then*.

Ace Combat isn't really a flight sim, it's an action arcade game where you play as Plane Jesus. Usually with a cracking soundtrack.

* A few months ago r/acecombat was being extremely normal with ritual shitposts attempting to manifest an Ace Combat 8 announcement, but instead summoned the plot of AC7, containerised drone attacks, into real life.

Also, Plane Jesus desires carnal relations with.. well, the plane.

But yes, it’s arcade flight game. Also? The accessibility, controls, and difficulty options are, if I remember correctly for AC7? Really quite good.

Melee is the only apparent turn-off for me. Such games typically just aren't my thing. I wonder if Dylan (Jesse's brother) will also have the launch ability.

But the game looks pretty good, and I really liked the first, so I'm sure I'll pick it up at some point.

Yeah. Not a fan.
I was excited the moment I figured out is was the next Control and then somewhat deflated once it became clear it's going to be a melee (souls like?) game.
I love the world and shooty Jedi-Jessie. Not sure I can go for this.
I really hope they pull it off anyways. Maybe I can be converted.

Well, it is directed by Casey Hudson, so you know the ending isn't going to be a strong point.

I'm excited for Warlock and Divinity (I didn't love the systems of DOS and DOSII, but Larian's storytelling is fantastic so I'll at least give it a shot), tentatively for Fate of the Old Republic and Control Resonant, and Exodus has been on my radar for a while -- I really get a Mass Effect 2/3 vibe from that trailer, so I'm hoping that one turns out cool.

Total War Warhammer is based on Warhammer Fantasy Battle, the old fantasy product that has the non-space versions of elves and orcs and its Empire is more of the Holy Roman variety.

They exploded WHFB because it wasn't good enough at selling toy soldiers, then brought it back when Total War made it really popular again (even making brand new factions).

Guild Wars Reforged announced. It's it's a cheap bundle for new players, and they've done some UI and visual overhauls. It's also Steam Deck verified. Releases on Dec 3rd.

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/announcing-guild-wars-reforged/

Guild Wars was my first "MMO" experience, so I look forward to the nostalgia.

I told myself I wouldn't pick this up again, but I lied. Revisiting this game 15+ years later has been a blast, granted I'm also doing a lot of PvE stuff that I used to ignore so there's that. Good thing I have some holiday leave coming up :)

Arenanet help support was also extremely good, I didn't remember any of my login information, dug up my old GW1 CD case sent them a picture of the key and they were able to swap the login email for me very quickly.

I have to be honest, these cinematic trailers don't really do it for me. Show me some gameplay at least.

The ones I got really excited for had (what at least appeared to be) some actual gameplay in there, if not a lot. The Total War: WH40k had some actual gameplay at the end. Some of the snips towards the end of Control Resonant looked like gameplay.

Those were my two big ones.

Oh, and Ontos. Because Frictional are farking weird.

I'm hoping that dropping the "Original Sin" part of the title heralds that they're going to be making some mechanical changes in a sort of soft reboot. Would be surprised if it's an action RPG like the old Divine Divinity and Divinity II games, I think they'll keep iterating on their CRPG engine from DOS 1, 2, and BG3, but I was also not that much a fan of the DOS2 combat. People who mastered its set up and combo systems to end fights before the opponents get a turn seem to love it, but I am noob and I like dice rolls.

I don't know if it's funny or a comment on the durability of hope that there are still people in the world that think HL3 is ever going to get made.
I genuinely don't think anyone believes HL3 is coming. At most, there are people who will continue holding a grudge over it, but at this point the only people still invested in Half Life are the 1,000 people who played Half Life Alyx and the Crowbar Collective, who are supposedly working on Black Mesa: Blue Shift at this time.

If I were Valve, I'd release it as a micro-transaction-laden phone game, so I could watch all the heads explode in rage.

So this dropped today, Terminator 2D. I've played a couple of levels. Takes me back to SNES days. Thus far seems more based on Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Movement feels good. Animation as well. It's may actually be a good videogame adaptation of a film property.
Outside of the length (which is nothing unusual for the genre, but notable because of the price point. Note this criticism goes away if you like to replay arcade games, especially for scoring purposes), this game seems fantastic. It hits the nostalgic notes for a whole host of games, including multiple Contra games and I'm sure there's little shout-outs and gameplay mechanisms from a host of other greats.

SOMA is one of my all-time favorites. Happy to see they're sticking with the sci-fi setting and heady themes and just cranking up the WTF-factor by more than a few notches. I am fucking down for this ride.
