Although it’s described as voluntary, Carr said broadcasters can meet their public interest obligations by taking the pledge. This is notable because Carr has repeatedly threatened to punish broadcast stations for violating the public interest standard.
Pretty much like this fuckwit's never heard of the first amendment.

How about reciting this every day..

PSAs about the US Constitution perhaps. How about a reminder that: it is the patriotic duty of all US military personnel to refuse any illegal order.
Since they are so interested in American history, how about daily reminders that Trump is the only President to be impeached twice! I'd also add in reminders about Trump's numerous fraud convictions.

At this point there should be little surprise over things like this. I don't think there is a bottom here. It's only going to get worse. Picture every fascist thing you've ever read about or saw in a movie or TV show that you thought was just too crazy to ever really happen and understand it is happening and much worse.

It wont be long before they claim juristiction over the internet. Most people consume their media over the internet, not on broadcast media.

They got it voluntarily with the Tiktok sale. What they want is control over the meta feed and youtube. Given how corrupt the United States is and how subservient the Epstein class is to Trump its hard to see how this wont happen.

For me as an immigrant, the greatness of this country is (used to be?) that you don't have to recite the pledge of allegiance if you don't want to, you don't have to believe in god, you don't have to stand up during the anthem at the start of a sports game, you can burn the flag (in a safe situation as a protest), and you can make fun of politicians. My grandmother had to do all of that pledging shit when she was in the Bund Deutscher Mädel, and it didn't end so well.
