Some of us can be outraged at more than one thing at a time, with different levels of anger. Like Epstein's island partygoers suffering zero consequences and that Democratic leadership again spends more time defending doing absolutely nothing than fighting for anything. At least she can still legally continue her insider trading.

Pelosi only wants people to ignore this because a high ranking Democrat named Bill Clinton (last in the news endorsing Andrew Cuomo, another party bigwig with problematic sexual behaviors) also visited that island. And probably some of her donors, since it seems like every rich asshole went there.

I don't think there's a specific list of what perverts did what with which children. But there's certainly a reason why Trump's lawyer/AG stopped releasing any info after that first batch in February, because Trump's name was there, she's obviously not good editing prison videos with Adobe, and there's way too much info left to forge or delete if it all gets released immediately. It's not because Trump's a decent man who accidentally went to the wrong place at the wrong time just for directions to get away from there. Repeatedly.

Alligator Alcatraz would be better used as housing for every adult who ever flew to that island. It all sounds like even if they weren't all pedophiles, it was an open secret Epstein was ("I’ve known Jeff [Epstein] for 15 years. Terrific guy, He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side" - DJT), and everyone has a duty to report. Unless, of course, you're innocently on a child sex island in international waters for other unrelated business I guess.

But instead we need to let this go, to focus on real issues (like fundraising for the next election), or maybe for the victim's sake. So they can heal and get closure...from nobody doing anything for decades and only 1 person in jail for running a multinational sex trafficking ring singlehandedly for one dude.
Do you think that if Clinton or any other Democratic or Dem-leaning politician were prominent on Epstein's list or involved similarly to how Trump was involved in the teen modeling scams, that the Trump administration would NOT be using them as the distraction? After all the Clinton 'faux' scandals that have been widely distributed and headlined for even less cause, one would expect to see something along the 'Rose Law', Uranium One, or 'email server' frothing-at-the-mouth article in WaPo or NTY or any other news media by now.

And if Trump and his spokespeople did release anything that pointed that way, why would you trust it anymore than his other proclamations?

I really I wish Democrats had used Epstein against Trump in the election. It just never occurred to them because they’re focused on public policy and the national interest. They’ve lost the dark art of psychological manipulation and messaging.

The average American can’t or is uninterested in understanding the nuances of public policy and macroeconomics, but they can understand personal and specific issues like Epstein.
If they had it would have gone over as well in the media just as when Democrats tried bringing up Trump's 'dictator on day one' remarks. Both boring (Trump is Trump) and beyond the pale (Not being polite enough)

If there are guilty parties, they should be investigated and punished. Politics be damned, it’s not relevant if a child sex predator has an R or a D next to their name.

But if these files are suspiciously redacted, all of Trump’s base will bay for the complete files. We all know Trump is all over them, so if they’re released without him, we’ll know it’s a political hatchet job.
'Suspiciously redacted' for the Trump base just means that there aren't enough Democrats, liberal celebrities, and Jewish financiers listed. Heck if Soros, Bill and Hillary are only listed once each, that would be get Trump's base to start yelling "Fraud!"

For rich men in the US, justice is an aberration, not a rule.

Further: Epstein was a lot smarter than Madoff because he had a second defence against prosecution - he could blackmail both parties to avoid it. Not that he'd put it that way, he'd probably just remind them of all the great times they had and all the wonderful secrets they shared.
Blackmail material did not help the DC Madam.
Wiki said:
In response to Palfrey's statement that she had 10,000 to 15,000 phone numbers of clients, several clients' lawyers contacted Palfrey to see whether accommodations could be made to keep their identities private. Ultimately, ABC News, after going through what was described as 46 pounds (21 kg) of phone records, decided that none of the potential clients were sufficiently "newsworthy" to bother mentioning.
The next sentence said:
On July 9, 2007, Senator David Vitter (R-LA) acknowledged that he had been a customer of her escort service.

And stupid, fucking drooling Biden, sat on this shit and never published it? WTF?!! Actually, everybody in power knew about this shit to some degree and no one used it?

If I remember correctly, most of it was sealed under a court order, meaning they could not legally release it. Biden and the Democrats "sat on it" because they follow the rules.
That take, "Why didn't Biden and Garland release the emails earlier? They must have been in on it!!1!!"-warble-garble, is starting to popup on BlueSky as well.

Someone shoulda taken one for the team.
You are aware that this is the timeline that around 20 years ago Dan Rather's '60 Minutes' story about George W. Bush going AWOL from his Texas National Guard duties got buried and shit-canned by the producers because the same people that lied about, a.k.a. "Swift-boated", John Kerry's Vietnam tour of duty went on and on about the supposed presence of 'kerning' in the material Rather was going to use? That Bush II skipped out was grounds for disqualifying him from any Federal office. And THAT was gone from public awareness. I know that ARS forums and Front Page went in depth on the subject.

What pray tell do you think the media would have done with the furor the GOP, MAGA, and Trump would have made about the improper release in order to hid what the material said?

It gets even more "interesting." The W.H. released a picture of Micheal Jackson, Bill Clinton and Diana Ross with redacted minors as part of the dump. Community notes have traced the picture as a Getty stock images of a picture taken at a charity event in 2003 with the minors being Diana Ross' kids.

Any other president, they would be out of the office by now by giant mob.
As pointed out elsewhere, if Trump's DOJ HAD actual evidence of Clinton doing ANYTHING hinky in the Epstein file dump, they would have released it with loud fanfare.

I still think the Epstein relationship and the sexual abuse/manipulation are potentially potent issues to use against Trump. Republicans can't win without female voters. They can't win without a large number of the wishy washy middle. They can't win without men who wouldn't want to see their own daughters and sisters and wives treated the way Trump has done. We all know he either raped girls or at best turned a blind eye to it happening right under his nose. We have witnesses who say they were raped by Donald J. Trump as girls on record. We all know he treats women as sex objects rather than people. We all know he's committed sexual assault several times.

Democrats made the mistake of not making it a major campaign issue, probably out of fear it would backfire, but soft-pedalling it has backfired worse than anything they could have done. I say hit him with it hard and daily. Every time a Republican tries change the subject or equivocate or lie or try to excuse it, point out that's what they're doing and keep right on drilling on it. Make it unavoidable. When they distance themselves from him on it ask them why they supported him even when they knew or should have known he was a sexual assailant.

(and a fraudster and a liar)

And never ever let up.
To address the second part first, I do agree that the Democrats have not played up Trump's venality enough. However I believe that was because of the "How DARE you call out racism/fascism and call a racist a racists" snit-fit the media and and the supposed wise centralist 'Third Way'|'No Labels' groups pulled. Which aided the right in their standard DARVO tactics.

As for the first part if that were even remotely true Trump and most of the politicians on the right would not have been elected in to office in the first place due to voter disgust with reports of behavior made public. The only reason for voters on the right to turn against them is the old "The Right Cannot Fail, Only Be Failed" snubbing of perceived loser politicians.

So the Clintons are refusing to testify. I'm honestly not 100% sure how I feel about this. Is it an attempt to further distract and try to pin blame on the other side? Absolutely.

Did the Clintons have an unusually close relationship with Epstein and any/all wrongdoing should be exposed? Also absolutely.
Did you read the letter in question? (link to one paper's printing of the letter in its entirety. The Clinton's have a separate letter from their attorneys.) They are pointing out Comer's subpoenas are for display only. That he is demanding lots of answers from those with little information to give while doing very little questioning of those with lots of information. Bluntly,
Clinton's letter said:
We have tried to give you the little information we have. We’ve done so because Mr. Epstein’s crimes were horrific. If the Government didn’t do all it could to investigate and prosecute these crimes, for whatever reason, that should be the focus of your work – to learn why and to prevent that from happening ever again. There is no evidence that you are doing so. Instead, you have forced the victims to relive their painful experiences, while doing little to give them and everybody else what’s deserved: truth and justice. There is no plausible explanation for what you are doing other than partisan politics.
We expect you will say it is not enough. We expect you’ll reject it. You may even set out an empty chair or stand in front of the cameras and outright dismiss what we have provided. We expect you will direct your committee to seek to hold us in contempt. You may even release irrelevant, decades-old photos that you hope will embarrass us. You will say your caucus, and the Speaker and the President are behind you 100%. We hope, perhaps in vain, that they will not allow you to singlehandedly hijack the Congress by unilaterally making this decision for your colleagues, your party, and our country.
The Clinton wrote that they will be doing their defending in the public arena to keep Comer from hiding their answers.

And they expected the Democrats to resist the documents release so Republicans could use the "Democrats protect pedos" line of attack.

Now they're boxed into a corner and don't know what to do.
Republicans expected to hang everything on the Clintons to resurrect the whole 'Pizzagate' conspiracy as popularized by Q-anon.

They did not expect the Democrats NOT to fall in line and worship at the feet of the Clintons. And they did not expect the Clintons to call the Republican's bluff about testifying and certainly not to raise the stakes by insisting on all of it be made public.

In a sense, it still does.

When finally able (elected) to destroy the One Ring (fix the US political/economic system), Frodo (the Democrats) turn around and say “you know what? Nah.”
That the fix will depend on the Democrats' frenemy & sometime opponent, Gollum, to bite it off the Dem's finger and immolate it and themselves?
