<em>MechWarrior Online</em> announced as free-to-play game for 2012

After over two years of radio silence, the makers of the next <em>MechWarrior</em> game have finally announced <em>MechWarrior Online</em> as a free-to-play PC game for release next year.

I actually liked the single player games and multiplayer was just 'ok'. I also like 3rd person view, but if they can do a decent job of allowing head turn, torso twist, and turning the mech all at the same time, I guess it could be again 'ok'.
Multiplayer only makes me think of no story, no escort missions, no covert mission objectives, no decision making, just FPS kill/die/respawn endless loops.
